As Star Wars Day approaches, fans are fascinated by their strong female characters. Not only are the women in the franchise kind and compassionate, but they are also responsible and strong in saving lives. 

Recently, it was announced that Carrie Fisher will get a Walk of Fame on Star Wars Day: May 4th. Princess Leia is undoubtedly one of the most beloved characters in Star Wars.

Starting her career as a Shock Trooper, Cara Dune is a fierce warrior with an amazing personality. She played a significant role during the Galactic Civil War. She is a born fighter and never runs away from any fight. A true hero, she protects people from harm and doesn’t leave the field without a fair fight. 

Cara Dune even threw away her chance to have a peaceful life on an obscure planet to save Din Djarin and Grogu for their safety. Currently, she is a Marshall with the New Republic and is helping clear Imperials from the galaxy. 


4) Rey Skywalker

Rey is the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine, who wasn’t seduced by the Dark Side. Instead, she chose to stay a Jedi and train with both Luke and Leia. 

Being the granddaughter of the greatest Sith Lord, she was hidden by her parents to ensure her safety. Rey was always Force-sensitive and loved her life as a scavenger on the Jakku planet. She later became an integral part of the Resistance, thus becoming the main protagonist of the Return Saga of Star Wars. 

She also made a strong Force connection with Kylo Ren or Ben Solo, the leader of the First Order, who is the son of Leia Organa and Han Solo. On her journey to Exegol, she discovers that her grandfather Palpatine is being resurrected. Even though he wanted Rey to take his place as an Emperor, Rey refused and finished off Palpatine to save the Resistance. 

Rey is an extremely powerful character and gave female characters of Star Wars a new dimension, thus creating a sense of strong inspiration among the fans. 


3) Ahsoka Tano

Ahsoka Tano is also a strong female character in Star Wars. She is known for her sense of duty and principle and her intolerance towards injustice. 

Initially, Ahsoka Tano was an apprentice of Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars. She was extremely gifted with a warrior spirit. She was extremely loyal to her master, which resulted in her making one of the strongest assets in the Jedi Order. 

However, when the Jedi Council accused her of conspiring with the Republic, she left the order and returned during the days of the Empire as a General in the Rebel Alliance. She played a crucial role in the restoration of the New Republic and became a mentor to Ezra Bridger. 


2) Bo Katan Kryze

Bo Katan Kryze is the most sardonic and confident female character that the Star Wars franchise has ever got. She is a princess of the Kryze clan of Mandalore and was a loyal lieutenant to Pre Vizsla. She is a proud member of the Death Watch and is burdened with the responsibility of restoring Mandalore to its former glory. 

Bo Katan Kryze is a strong female character and has helped Grogu and Din Djarin throughout their journey. She also wielded the Darksaber, making her the true ruler of Mandalore. She is a strong female character Star Wars introduced to the fans and they have embraced her with all that love. 


1) Leia Organa Skywalker Solo

Saving the last for the best, Princess Leia or Leia Organa Skywalker Solo is one of the best female characters of Star Wars. Daughter of Senator Padme Amidala and former Jedi turned Sith apprentice Darth Vader aka Anakin Skywalker, she has done a commendable job in portraying the amalgamation of the two. 

She’s compassionate, kind, and ambitious yet very stern. Leia was raised by Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan. She also played a major role in not only the destruction of the Imperial Galactic Empire, but also served as a General during the Resistance against the First Order. 

Leia is a strong woman with principles. This is one of the reasons why she didn’t even hesitate to create a Resistance against the First Order, whose leader was her son. She was a gifted politician with a keen mind for strategy and oration. 

As an adult, she learned the ways of the Force from Luke Skywalker. Later, she passed on her knowledge to Rey when she took her as an apprentice.
