Apart from tweets and memes, Twitter is home to some exciting polls that often leaves the platform’s users divided. The latest addition to that list is a viral poll involving the legendary Hollywood actors, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. While the two octogenarians are considered to be the greatest living actors of our time, Twitter is busy trying to figure out who looked better in their youth. 

The viral poll tweet has garnered millions of views and responses, and the numbers only seem to keep growing. Apart from participating, users have also been active in the ‘hotness’ debate by posting young pictures of Pacino and De Niro to justify their stance. While the poll has officially come to an end earlier today, the debate still continues in the replies section.

It all started when Ashley Reese who goes by the username @offbeatorbit created this poll after she had attended a wedding, where this debate sparked. She put out a question to her 60,000 followers asking who was hotter: a young Robert De Niro or a young Al Pacino? 

In just a day’s time, the poll managed to earn a whopping 277,372 total votes and 26.4 million views. Interestingly, the poll ended in a tie with both Pacino and De Niro taking half each of the total votes. 

To argue, people shared pictures of the actors from their prime in the 1970s and 80s. Some pointed out that while Pacino was better looking than De Niro in general, the latter managed to look hot for a longer time. 

Twitter reactions to the viral poll results

Despite fighting it out, fans felt it was wholesome that the poll ended in a jaw-dropping 50-50 tie. The veteran actors themselves have been great friends for over 60 years. So, it’s highly likely that the poll would have put a smile on their faces.

Twitter users were quick to point out that the viral Al Pacino vs Robert De Niro poll seems a lot like the election poll from HBO’s Succession. In fact, the poll came to an end right in the middle of when S04E08 aired.

Robert De Niro and Al Pacino’s film careers

In convention, both Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are two of the greatest actors of all time. The duo started their careers in the 1970s and are still fairly active. Al Pacino’s role as Michael Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather cemented his place as a mafia icon.

In the sequel to The Godfather, Robert De Niro played a young Vito Corleone which put him on the map. De Niro is best known for his collaborations with Martin Scorsese in films like Goodfellas and Taxi Driver.

Al Pacino and Robert De Niro have worked together in four movies till date. They were last seen together in 2019 in The Irishman.
