How does the attribute mechanics work in Dota 2 7.33 patch?

Each and every attribute has a specific perk that when level-up occurs, is added to the stat of the hero. Here is a detailed guide on what each and every attribute does.

Strength

Strength is one of the three primary attributes as it measures the endurance and toughness of a hero. This determines how much health the hero has and its health regeneration. Each level-up adds the following for all heroes:

  • Maximum health increases by 22
  • Health regeneration increases by 0.1
  • The main attack damage increases by 1 ( Only for heroes whose primary attribute is Strength)

Agility

As the name suggests, this attribute deals with the quickness of heroes. Agility heroes comprise mostly hard carries as this class requires most amount of levels and items to dish out massive damage. And boy oh boy do they dish out hell when at the peak of their powers.

leveling up a hero will grant you the following perks due to agility being leveled up:

  • Increases armor by 0.167
  • Increases attack speed of the hero by 1 point
  • Increases main attack damage by 1 ( Only for heroes whose primary attribute is Agility)

Intelligence

Usually the most sacrificial class, Intelligence heroes are mostly supports due to their heavy reliance on crowd control abilities costing a lot of mana. Leveling up Intelligence gains you the following perks:

  • Increases maximum mana by 12
  • Increases mana regeneration by 0.05
  • Increases main attack damage by 1 ( Only for Intelligence heroes)

Universal

With the Dota 2 7.33 patch update, a new attribute class was added to the evergrowing game. And despite not having any primary attributes, Universal heroes are the ones that stand to benefit the most as there are no limitations to possibilities with these heroes.

With each level-up, these heroes gain the normal perks of each attribute. However, instead of gaining 1 damage per level up, these heroes get 0.6 bonus damage from any of the attributes. So, with these heroes, you can build any item that gives stats and they will end up benefiting from it, gaining damage anyhow.
