With the early access of the Diablo 4 beta going on, fans have already dived deep into the playable character classes. Various builds and other tips and tricks can be found all around the web. However, arguably the most used class in this first week of the beta is by far, the Barbarian.

The Barbarian is the most generic choice of most players in such games, due to their superior strength build and the big weapons they can carry. The Fury mechanic is back in Diablo 4, as it is the main source of power for the Barbarians. You can turn this class into a tank if you build it right. Thus, for dealing or taking in damage, Barbarian is the go-to class.

Diablo 4 beta: How to unlock Barbarian, its skills, and abilities

Unlocking the Barbarian class

Every other class in the Diablo 4 beta except the Necromancer and the Druid is available in the early access open beta. Thus, the Barbarian class comes pre-unlocked with early access, alongside the Rogue and Sorceress class. So all you have to do is pre-purchase the game, and get early access to it. However, surprisingly you can get early access from KFC too. So there are no prerequisites to unlock it, just get on the game, and start your Barbarian build in Diablo 4 beta.

Barbarian: Skill categories and abilities

The main prerogative of this class is that it can wield a whole arsenal of weapons and also has unparalleled strength to fight out anything. With its intimidating war cries and earth-shattering slams, it is a fearsome class. Just like Essence in the Necromancer, Fury is the source of power for Barbarians.

Alongside being able to carry a boatload of weapons of different categories and using them flawlessly, this tank has a lot of other skills and abilities to boast of. They can equip four weapons at once due to the Arsenal System of the game.

Following is the list of skills and abilities of Barbarians in Diablo 4 beta:

  1. Basic Skills: Just like the other classes, these abilities are free-to-use, and do not have any cooldown. They generate Fury for the skills in the Core category. These are Bash, Flay, Lunging Strike, and Frenzy.
  2. Core Skills: Core skills are essential in combat and consume fury. However, they do not have any cooldown time. These abilities are Hammer of the Ancients, Rend, Upheaval, Double Swing, and Whirlwind.
  3. Defensive Abilities: As the name suggests, defensive abilities are protective skills, for you and your allies. These are also very useful for crowd control, whenever you are on the back foot against a mob. Challenging Shout, Ground Stomp, Iron Skin, and Rallying Cry are the Defensive skills of a Barbarian.
  4. Brawling Skills: These are abilities that are great for mobility and swift motion during combat. The Brawling Skills of the Barbarian are War Cry, Kick, Leap, and Charge.
  5. Weapon Mastery Abilities: These abilities make use of the huge arsenal of weapons effectively. But the drawback is, these skills have a long cooldown. These are Rupture, Death Blow, and Steel Grasp.
  6. Ultimate Skills: These are extremely powerful skills, best for dispatching bosses and powerful enemies. They are a long cooldown and can be equipped once at a time. These are Wrath of the Berserker, Iron Maelstrom, and Call of the Ancients.

Diablo 4 beta Barbarian Class: Final thoughts

Upgrading your Strength, Intelligence, Willpower, and Dexterity is the best way for making your Barbarian character stronger. These are the primary Barbarian Attributes. The Barbarian class is arguably one of the most powerful classes in all of Diablo 4. The high damage output, with very good poise, is great for fighting bosses and enemies head-on. Gather your allies, and start your Barbarian journey in Diablo 4 beta if you have not already.
