These equipment drops in various rarities, so farming for the 5-star option is always recommended.
Relics in Honkai Star Rail work similarly to artifact sets in Genshin Impact. Hence, you must look out for the best stats for your characters before settling for a piece. Additionally, you must be at least at Trailblaze Level 5 to activate the premium drops.

Complete Relic farming guide for Honkai Star Rail
Honkai Star Rail has two different categories of relic sets which are the standard 4-piece Cavern sets and Planar Ornaments. This equipment rolls with a unique primary attribute and 4 different substat at max level. You must equip each of them in their respective slots under the character menu to increase their potential in the game.
To obtain the 4-piece sets, you must unlock the Cavern of Corrosion domain by progressing through the main campaign. Once it is available, you can access all the relic domains using the Survival Index. Now, all you have to do is teleport to the arena, and clear out its enemies to acquire the set pieces.
Furthermore, you can equip the Planar Ornaments after completing the “No time for me my friend” quest. These ornaments will be available at Herta’s Simulated Universe from World 3 onwards. Inside, you will come across various Immersion devices in every elite boss room. Once, you clear out every single enemy you can interact with the device to claim the Relic at the cost of 40 Trailblaze Power in the game.
You can obtain more value from 5-star Relics, so farming for the less rare option is futile. Thus, you must reach TrailBlaze Level 5 to acquire the guaranteed 5-star drops. Moreover, clearing certain objectives gives you free 4-star gears which will sustain you in your early adventures.
Best Relic stats, and more
As mentioned previously, there are specific slots for each of the Relic pieces in Honkai Star Rail. Moreover, the primary attribute is locked as HP for the headpiece and ATK for the hands. However, for the other spots the following are some of the desired bonuses to look for.
- Feet: Speed or ATK%
- Body: CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG or ATK%
- Sphere: Elemental DMG
- Rope: Break Effect or ATK%
Keep in mind that you will have to prioritize different stats for characters that scale on other attributes. For instance, support units such as Natasha, scale purely on HP, and in that case, you will have to farm for HP% on each of them to maximize her potential. Shielders on the other hand rely heavily on DEF to strengthen their abilities.
