Thanks to the upcoming Team GO Rocket Takeover Event, March is particularly exciting for Pokemon GO players. The event will start on March 25 at 10:00 a.m. and end on March 29 at 8:00 p.m. local time. It is a part of the new Lets GO promotion that is happening at the same date and time and both events will be held simultaneously.

There are multiple things to do and Pocket Monsters and shiny variants to catch this month. The main thing is that Niantic has hinted that Team GO Rocket may turn more creatures into Shadow Pokemon, so players should stay alert. They should be ready with their strategy and counters to tackle the challenges ahead. This article covers everything they need to know about the upcoming Team GO Rocket Takeover event.


Pokemon GO: Team GO Rocket Takeover’s new Shadow Pokemon and Bonuse in March 2023

A new Special Research has become available alongside the Team GO Rocket Takeover Event. Trainers must claim and complete it by the end of Season 10, June 1, 2023, 10:00 a.m. local time. As they make their way through it, they will be rewarded with a Super Rocket Radar, which can be used to track down and battle Giovanni.

The Pokemon GO event also has some amazing bonuses for participants:

  • Frequent appearance of Team GO Rocket in balloons and PokeStops.
  • Charged TMs can make a Shadow Monster forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

New Shadow Pokemon in Team GO Rocket Takeover Event:

Pokemon GO trainers are asked to defeat the Team GO Rocket Grunts as well as their leaders Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo’s new Shadow Pocket Monsters. Niantic has turned multiple new creatures into Shadow Pokemon for this event, and some of them might have shiny compatibility.

  • Shadow Phanpy
  • Shadow Treecko
  • Shadow Torchic
  • Shadow Drifloon

Moreover, unique 12 KM Eggs will be available to hatch during March’s Team GO Rocket Takeover Event.

These eggs will feature some Shiny Pokemon, who can only be availed by hatching them.

  • Absol – Shiny Potential

  • Scraggy – Normal Variant
  • Pawniard – Shiny Potential, 12km egg only
  • Vullaby – Shiny Potential, 12km egg only
  • Deino – Shiny Potential
  • Pancham – Normal Variant, 12km egg only
  • Skrelp – Normal Variant
  • Salandit – Normal Variant, 12km egg only

Players also have the opportunity to obtain a Mysterious Component by finishing the Field Research task exclusively available during the event. They will have to face and win against the Team GO Rocket leaders, so proper counters will be needed. The Team GO Rocket boss Giovanni is all set to battle them with his Shadow Regice.
