The upcoming March 18 Community Day will mark the Pokemon GO debut of the Shiny Galarian Slowpoke. And although Shiny Slowpoke is already available in the game, it is quite rare. Thanks to the event, you have a high chance of encountering shiny variants of these monsters.

You can also increase the chance of encountering these Shiny variants using Lures and Incenses, and you can stock up to use them later on in the event. With an already high spawn rate, spawn rate-boosting items will increase the probability of encountering a shiny. You are also advised to stock up on Poke Balls and Berries to catch this amount of monsters.

Slowpoke will evolve into Slowbro and Slowking, whereas Galarian Slowpoke will evolve into Galarian versions. You will get a Slowbro, Galarian Slowbro, Slowking, or Galarian Slowking that knows the Charged Attack Surf when evolved during the event or up to five hours afterwards. This attack will have 65 power in all Trainer battles, Gyms, and Raids.

The Community Day will also feature a Brain-teasing evolution. There will be a temporary alteration to the evolution process of Galarian Slowpoke to Galarian Slowbro. Instead of catching 30 Poison-type Pokemon while adventuring with the former as your buddy, you will need to catch 30 Psychic-types during the same period.

It is important to note that this change is only valid until 10:00 p.m. local time on the same day. So, you should keep an eye on the time to take advantage of this change.

A Bonus Raid Battle will be available after Community Day ends. You can participate in Tier-4 Raid Battles featuring Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke and winning it will increase the chance of encountering shiny versions of these creatures.

Winning will also cause them to appear more frequently for 30 minutes near the Gym where the battle occurred. It’s important to note that Remote Raid passes cannot be used to participate in this Raid Battle.
