The psychics have returned in Pokemon GO, and we hope you’ve decided to catch them all. The Psychic Cup: Great League Edition starts on Wednesday, March 15, at 1:00 p.m. and ends on Wednesday, March 22, at 1:00 p.m. Its tournament format includes a set of rules, forcing players to adapt their battle teams.

The Psychic Cup has a maximum CP limit of 1,500. As the name might suggest, trainers can only field Psychic-type monsters, except for the legendary Pokemon Mew, which will not be a part of the competition. Pokemon GO Psychic Cup allows both casual and well-seasoned trainers to test their skills against each other. But there’s no need to worry; we’ve got you covered with the best team possible.

Victini and Alolan Raichu with others for the best team in Pokemon GO Psychic Cup 2023

Winning demands a well-rounded team effort in Pokemon GO. A team’s success depends upon a good leader, the right substitute when needed, and an effective finisher. Players must apply that to this Psychic Cup: a leader, the right substitute, and a finishing Pokemon will seal the deal.

1) Victini

  • Resistances: Fairy, Fighting, Fire, Grass, Ice, Psychic, and Steel
  • Weaknesses: Dark, Ghost, Ground, Rock, and Water
  • Fast Move: Quick Attack
  • Charged Moves: V-Create and Psychic
  • Attack Power: 210
  • Defense Power: 210
  • Stamina: 225

If you’re lucky enough to have a Victini, you can access the brilliant Charged Moves, Psychic, and V-Create much earlier. If your arsenal has one under 1500 CP, you have a huge advantage in the Psychic Cup meta. Its charge moves can result in significant amounts of damage to enemies like Gardevoir, Galarian Rapidash, and even Malamar.

2) Alolan Raichu

  • Resistances: Electric, Fighting, Flying, Psychic, and Steel
  • Weakness: Bug, Dark, Ghost, and Ground
  • Fast Moves: Volt Switch and Wild Charge
  • Charged Moves: Thunder Punch
  • Attack Power: 201
  • Stamina: 155
  • Defense Power: 154

Alolan Raichu, the dual Psychic and Electric-type, can inflict significant damage with its vast moveset. It can easily run through the likes of Galarian Slowking, Galarian Rapidash, and Bronzong, except for the Grass-type that dulls electric damage. The most effective attacks for Alolan Raichu are Volt Switch and Thunder Punch with Wild Charge.

3) Galarian Rapidash

  • Resistances: Fighting, Dragon, and Psychic Type
  • Weakness: Steel, Ghost, and Poison
  • Fast Moves: Fairy Wind
  • Charged Moves: Bodyslam and Megahorn
  • Attack Power: 207
  • Defense Power: 162
  • Stamina: 163

Galarian Rapidash has resistance against Psychic-type, giving it an advantage over others on the Psychic Cup. It can destroy powerhouses like Megahorn, and its charged move Body Slam gives it an advantage over Claydol, Wobbuffet, Malamar, and Galarian Slowking.

The Galarian fighter’s Fairy Wind is one of the best Fast Moves to utilize in the Psychic Cup, and Charged Moves like Body Slam and Megahorn make it even more dominant. The only weakness of Galarian Rapidash is its low bulk.

4) Malamar

  • Resistances: Psychic
  • Weakness: Bugs and Fairy
  • Fast Moves: Psycho Cut
  • Charged Moves: Foul Play and Superpower
  • Attack Power: 200
  • Defense Power: 165
  • Stamina: 200

With its high resistance to Psychic-type, Malamar is best suited for the Psychic Cup. Its weaknesses include Bugs and Fairy, but there are very few worries about those types in this tournament. You can use the monster extravagantly, dealing heavy damage with its Charged Moves. The move Psycho Cut’s fast charge beautifully contributes to its powerful Dark-type Charged Move Foul Play.

5) Bronzong

  • Resistances: Poison, Psychic, Fairy, Dragon, Flying, Ice, Grass, Steel, Rock, and Normal
  • Weakness: Ghost, Ground, Dark, and Fire
  • Fast Moves: Feint Attack
  • Charged Moves: Payback and Heavy Slam
  • Attack Power: 161
  • Defense Power: 213
  • Stamina: 167

Bronzong is a great pick for the Pokemon GO Psychic Cup with its complete secondary Dark-type moves, well-rounded resistances, and great defensive stats. Its Fast Move, Feint Attack and Payback deal incredible damage in battles. That said, its best moveset in Pokemon GO is a combination of Confusion and Heavy Slam, resulting in 9.46 DPS.

That’s all for the Psychic Cup: Great League Edition on Pokemon GO. This is your chance to catch ’em all and become a true Pokemon GO master. Ready for this new Season 10: Rising Heroes, trainers?
