Cyberpunk Edgerunners Announced; Standalone Anime Coming 2022 To Netflix

Cyberpunk Edgerunners

During today’s Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire Event, CD Projekt Red revealed that a standalone anime in the same universe is coming to Netflix is 2022. Cyberpunk Edgerunners is being held by a Japan-based game studio called Trigger, the team behind Little Witch Academia, Kiznaiver and a bunch of other stylish shows.

As mentioned already, the anime is based in Night City and will be available for us to stream on Netflix in 2022. We’ll inform you when there’s more information on Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Personally, I love the idea and can’t wait for the series.

Here’s the YouTube description –

We’re excited to announce that together with an acclaimed Japan-based animation company, Studio Trigger, and the world’s leading streaming entertainment service, Netflix, we’re working on a new original anime series set in the same universe as Cyberpunk 2077! CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk. The series will premiere in 2022.
