PALADINS: ‘The Free Overwatch’ Guide – The Only Guide You Need!

To begin with, Paladins is a First Person Shooter game developed by Hi-Rez Studios who also happen to be the creators of the very popular MOBA, SMITE. Many believe it to be a Overwatch clone which is in turn, free. So, if you were not able to buy the $60 Overwatch for whatsoever reason, this is the game for you!

As the game gains popularity at a rapid speed (at certain times, the game had more viewership on Twitch than Overwatch!), I thought about making a guide for the very beginners so as to guide them through the game.

ABOUT THE GAME

The game is rooted in a colourful sci-fi fantasy setting featuring Champions, playable characters that have their own unique fire-function and abilities.

Combat in Paladins is also nearly entirely skillshot-based, meaning projectiles can be dodged. Although each champion has its own personality and core skills, to get around Paladins’ Maps the real character variation comes from a deck-building Cards System that augments a champion in different ways.

CHAMPIONS

Champions are the playable characters in Paladins. Each one has its own unique abilities and fighting style. Champions use Cards to increase their performance, and empower their skills.

Champions are organized in 4 different type: Front Line, Damage, Support and Flank.

Every champion carries an unique weapon and has a set of 4 skills exclusive to them.

CHAMPIONS BY CLASS

Champions are divided into four classes which the user can choose before a match begins. The classes and characters of each classes are listed below.

Front Line

These champions are good at holding the line and protecting their teammates.

Damage

These champions are capable of consistently dealing high amounts of damage.

Support

These are high utility champions, helpful in both offence and defence.

Flank

These champions excel at flanking and taking out key targets from the opponent’s rear.
