Everything From Revamping the Family System to Notification Settings
The next beta update for PlayStation 4 Software rolls out today as the major system software updates 5.00 which are codenamed as “NOBUNAGA”. There were a lot of people who already signed up on the website for its beta tester program and they will be asked from today to take part in the beta testing of this software version for PlayStation 4. However there were so many people signing up for the major update testing so only a selected bunch of people will be able to get their hands on the beta update.
On the other side, for those of you who are not selected for the beta testing program or if you haven’t applied for the program at all, here we have a brief look at the things PS 4 new Software Update plans to introduce and what you should expect to be changed in the new software version for the console.
Family on PSN:
One of the major points that were taken into consideration by the company was the “Family” section in the software. There are different accounts to be assigned to different family members who use the PS 4. The new Family System will provide some flexible features for families by making it easier to create and manage their PSN accounts and also monitor their parental control settings. Here are the further points which are included in the current update
Family Manager:
Family manage will play the role of the leader of the family and he will have the right to change excess for the other users on the family and also he will hold the right to promote other members to manager. Also the management of parental control levels will be under the Family Managers of the system.
Individual Parental Controls:
Before this beta update to PlayStation Software, the same levels of parental controls were applied for all the accounts including other adults but with the 5.00 beta update, the Family Managers can separately manage and assign the controls to each child.
Friend List Management:
A new feature in the friends section is added by the name of “custom lists” which will allow the user to create custom lists friends which will be editable also too. With the help of this new feature, you will be able to manage different friend groups and make a specific list of friends for a specific game title.
Broadcast Feature Updates
Communities
While broadcasting you will now have the option to bind your community to your broadcast. Once you go live, the community button appears on the Live and if the viewers click on it they will be directed to your community page and they can check all the details about it there.
PlayStation VR
There is a new function being introduced in the PlayStation VR category. You can now Display Message to Spectators and Spectators Comments. Once this is enabled the spectator’s comments which are sent during a broadcast are displayed in not only cinematic mode but also in the VR mode. This makes it a lot more easy for VR broadcasters to keep up on comments and communicate with the viewers. Especially this option is going to help the Twitch and Youtube streamers for sure.
PlayStation 4 Pro:
Good news for twitch streamers and viewers, the new update will make PS4 support 1080p 60fps Streaming from now on.
Message Improvements:
Thanks to the PlayStation Music it was possible to post status updates to Facebook and Twitter from the PS4 but now with the new update, you will also be able to send message from PlayStation 4. If your friends are on PS4 they can listen to the music you are listening to and if they are using mobile, they can go to Spotify app from PS messages to check what your are listening too.
Also with the new update, there is a option to leave multiple chat groups at once. You can just open Options, Click on Leave and then choose all the chats you want to leave.
Notification Update:
There is a new setting introduced which allows you to disable pop up notifs while you are watching a movie or TV show on your PS 4. You will have to enable this setting yourself as it is set to off by default.
Furthermore, you will now get an option to turn off message previews which if you turn off the setting the pop up notifs will hide the text of the message and it will only show that you have a new message along with a sender’s icon.
Last but not the least you will be able to change the color of the pop up notifs of message.
Quick Menu Updates:
If you want to stay connected with the new happenings around your notifs, like your game download progress or installations or party invites, you can now access this directly from the Quick Menu which will help you to access everything without having to step away from your game everytime you want to check the progress.
Also there is a leave current party option right in the quick menu which will allow you to leave the party you are in with just one click.
Also there is a clock added on top when you open the quick menu.
Virtual Surround Sound on PS VR
PlayStation VR now supports 5.1ch and 7.1ch virtual surround sound on your headphones when watching Blu-rays and DVDs in Cinematic Mode, making for an even more immersive viewing experience.
Improved Tournaments Bracket Viewer:
There is a updated and improved view for the tournament brackets which will allow you to monitor the progress of single elimination and double elimination systems with ease. Also you can check your current tournament standings easily for the games like Tekken 7 and others.
New System Languages Added:
There are number of languages being added in the system software which are : Czech, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Romanian, Thai and Vietnamese. Addition of these languages is pretty good improvement and it will surely help the non-english PS4 users all over the world.
