This year, actor Patrick Dempsey has surprisingly edged out top contenders like Keanu Reeves and Pedro Pascal to earn the tag. Patrick Dempsey named People’s Sexiest Man Alive
Best known for his role as Derek Shepherd from Grey’s Anatomy, Patrick Dempsey is surely one of the best looking men in the world even at the age of 57. His nickname McDreamy from the long-running medical drama sums up his reputation as a heartthrob.
During a special segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the ‘Enchanted’ actor was named People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for the year 2023. Dempsey even indulged in a Q&A session with the audience at the talk show where he opened up about winning the title.
He said he was shocked to win the title since he had always been the ‘bridesmaid’ and expressed his gratitude for this recognition at his current phase of life. Dempsey joked that his wife and children would still make fun of him and pick on him for the title.

Patrick Dempsey has been in the industry for quite some time even before winning hearts around the world as Derek Shepherd from Grey’s Anatomy. His initial breakthroughs as a heartthrob came in the late 80s with Can’t Buy Me Love and Loverboy.

This December, the actor returns to the big screen with Michael Mann’s Ferrari biopic. He stars alongside Adam Driver as Italian racer Piero Taruffi, a role which the actor believes has pushed him past his limits of risk-taking, both on and off the screen.
Despite the ongoing strikes in Hollywood, Ferrari has an interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA for its scheduled theatrical release on Christmas Day. Dempsey’s other notable works include Disney’s Enchanted, Bridget Jones’s Baby and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
