Ahsoka Finale: Is it connected to The Mandalorian S4? Clues Explored

The first season of Ahsoka might be over, but the Star Wars series did more than just continue Ahsoka Tano’s story. Ahsoka may have set up the next Star Wars show on Disney+ in the season finale. But how exactly did Episode 8 drop clues about The Mandalorian Season 4?

Disney has yet to announce the future of the MandoVerse after Ahsoka. For instance, The Mandalorian has yet to be renewed, leading to speculations that the third season would be its last. Nevertheless, fans still found clues in Ahsoka Episode 8 that may have set up The Mandalorian Season 4.

The Mandalorian Season 4: Is It Coming?

Before anything else, it is essential to note that The Mandalorian has not been renewed for a fourth season. The delay may be attributed to the recent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that prevented writers and actors from participating in any new deals. But with the writers’ strike finally over and the actors’ strike in final negotiations, there is a good chance that an announcement will be made by the end of the year.

Despite its uncertainties, The Mandalorian Season 4 could be moving forward. After all, the final episode of Ahsoka Season 1 already teased how the main series could continue, and the biggest clue is in Ahsoka‘s main villain.

Grand Admiral Thrawn Heads for Dathomir

Grand Admiral Thrawn is back and no longer stuck in a different galaxy. In Ahsoka Episode 8, the Imperial officer manages to leave Peridea and escape back into the galaxy, where he can rebuild the Galactic Empire and defeat the New Republic. Interestingly, his first stop is the remote planet of Dathomir.

We want to think that Thrawn is nice enough to ride the Great Mothers back to their home planet, and then he’ll be on his way. However, there’s a considerable chance that his deal with the Dathomiri witches involved something more sinister.

Ahsoka Episode 8 already proved that the Great Mothers are capable of immense dark magic, and we may see why they are called “great” when they return in the fourth season of The Mandalorian. In addition, Thrawn needs a sinister-looking spot for his headquarters when he calls on the remnants of the Empire, which naturally leads us to…

Calling All Remnants of the Galactic Empire

The Mandalorian Season 3 already introduced the Shadow Council, a group of Imperial loyalists operating secretly under the guise of unorganized warlords. Ahsoka subtly addressed their existence during Hera Syndulla’s trial, dismissing their efforts by claiming that Moff Gideon was working alone. But with Thrawn finally back, there’s a good chance he will organize a meeting, and the Shadow Council will finally kick into action in an effort to take down the New Republic.

These are substantial clues to the future, but how should they affect Din Djarin and Grogu? The two have already settled down to live a peaceful life by the end of The Mandalorian Season 3. However, their peace is set to be disrupted by the Empire’s impending return, and one guy will undoubtedly call on them soon.

Captain Carson Teva

If there’s one thing that The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka have in common, it’s Captain Carson Teva. The New Republic pilot was first introduced in the second season of The Mandalorian before returning in The Book of Boba Fett AND playing a critical supporting role in Ahsoka. Teva is the one person who knows about Din and Grogu’s whereabouts, and it’s unlikely he will let them live in peace once Thrawn’s return is announced. With that in mind, Teva could be the one to call on Din and Grogu to help the New Republic in the fight against Thrawn in The Mandalorian Season 4.

So when can we expect the return of Din Djarin and Grogu? For now, The Mandalorian Season 4 has not yet been officially announced. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
