All enemies to expect in John Wick: Chapter 4

John Wick Chapter 4

John Wick: Chapter 4. That title alone makes you shiver! We know you do!

Chad Stahelski’s 4th John Wick movie is already wrapping up and fans just can’t wait any longer. The announcement of the 4th entry in the series was given a few years ago, right after the release of John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum. Due to the complications of the Covid-19 pandemic, the production was postponed thus the release of the movie has been constantly moved. Finally, we are getting to the end of the rainbow as John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming next year.

It was reported that this will be the longest movie in the franchise which could last up to 132 minutes. By that, there’s a high possibility we will be getting a lot of bloodbath and action in this film. Plus, it wouldn’t be complete without a lot of people going after John Wick. Today, we will be listing all the villains we must expect in Chapter 4 and what impact they could make on the movie.

Enemies that John Wick (a.k.a. the Baba Yaga) will be facing in John Wick: Chapter 4

Donnie Yen as Caine

Keanu Reeves might finally meet his match with the coming of the professional Chinese martial artist and IP man star, Donnie Yen.

Donnie Yen’s character as Caine could be the third bounty hunter or henchman that John Wick will be taking hits from. In the teaser trailer, we saw a prolific gunfight between Caine and John Wick. Both are taking turns in shooting each other but no one seems to give up. That being said, Caine could be John’s greatest enemy thus far in the series. This will be a showdown of the century with two of the most prolific action stars. One is a decorated assassin and one is a legendary martial expert, what more could you ask for?

Bill Skarsgard as Marquis

Playing as an antagonist isn’t new to the Swedish actor, Bill Skarsgard. Two of his biggest villain roles are in the horror movie IT and the MCU film, The Eternals.

The award-winning actor will be portraying Marquis, who seemed to be a powerful underground organization leader similar to the likes of Viggo Tarasov and The Director (Ruska Roma). Skarsgard’s intimidating looks and overpowering presence make him a notable choice for a villain worthy of John Wick’s time. At this point, his agenda is still unknown. Caine is just about as an enigma as John Wick, so this would be a very interesting film to watch out for.

Hiroyuki Sanada as Shimazu

This premiered Japanese actor seems to be everywhere in Hollywood. He’s constantly getting great roles in amazing movies and he never disappoints.

Featured in the teaser trailer was the appearance of Hiroyuki Sanada as Shimazu. Although we never saw him and John Wick go at each other, there’s no denying that Shimazu is working for The High Table. He could be out there for Wick’s head, but, we just have to see for ourselves until the movie is released.

He has also worked with Keanu Reeves in the past in 47 Ronin and will be reunited with each other in John Wick: Chapter 4.

Scott Adkins as Killa

Known for his performances in various action films like Undisputed, The Expendables, The Bourne: Ultimatum, and IP Man, Scott Adkins is a real-life martial artist.

Though he may be in this movie as another killer who wants Wick’s head, Scott Adkins as Killa might give Keanu’s John Wick a run for his money. If the two do go into hand-to-hand combat, it would be a great sight to see.

Shamier Anderson as The Tracker

The moniker “The Tracker” is so obvious and already gives Shamier Anderson’s character’s ability. He must be the guy in the film people with money look for to find someone, hence the name.

Despite his possible role in the bloodbath that’s about to happen in the film, The Tracker is still a borderline ally or foe. At this point, nobody still knows. After getting stabbed in the hand by Marquis (Bill Skarsgard), it just adds to the question if he is going to be a threat. However, the door for the villainous role hasn’t been closed in this one yet.

Clancy Brown (still unknown)

Only the OG movie fans know that Clancy Brown played an outstanding part in one of the best movies of all time. He undeniably gave out a stellar performance as the antagonist in the 1994 drama film, Shawshank Redemption.

Not only that, but he has also played major roles in Thor: Ragnarok, Starship Troopers, The Highlander, and many more. Also, if you don’t know, Clancy Brown was the voice behind the beloved Mr. Krabs from Spongebob Squarepants animated series. Brown now joins a star-studded and action-filled movie alongside other legendary actors. However, his role hasn’t been shared with the public yet. Aside from appearing in the trailer, his character’s name wasn’t even shared with the public. In a previous interview, Brown shared some details about his role which means he could be John Wick’s other enemy hidden in the rough.

“I will say it’s more of the Table revealed. More of the High Table, the kind of intricacies of that authority structure are revealed. With my guy. And I am in a couple of scenes that you could argue are action scenes, I suppose. A lot of my scenes are with Bill Skarsgard, which was a lot of fun.”

Plot

Very little is known about the adventures that await John Wick in the upcoming film. A teaser trailer was released a few weeks ago as part of the San Diego Comic-Con 2022 which has featured some major details and characters we are going to see come Chapter 4.

Of course, the story would still be about the botched relationship between John Wick and The High Table. The latter is out for blood and continuously increases the price on Wick’s head. Everybody wants him dead now but almost nobody wants to save him. Aside from the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) and Winston (Ian McShane), all of the assassins from around the world want a piece of John Wick.
