Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ tragic death shocked millions of people around the world. Renowned as the DJ from The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Stephen and his wife Allison Holker had multiple upcoming projects planned before his untimely passing.

Stephen “tWitch” Boss and wife Allison Holker were in the process of developing their TV show called Living the Dream. The show’s concept revolves around helping first time buyers to find their home.

  • Apart from this, Stephen and Allison were also planning to launch a show similar to “A Very Brady Renovation”. In this miniseries, cast members from The Brady Bunch would visit their old production house and work on its renovation.
  • Stephen’s project had a vaguely similar concept but here they would supervise the construction of a life-size Malibu Barbie Dream House.

  • Both Stephen’s show and The Brady Bunch spin-off are produced by HGTV, a Warner Bros. channel dedicated to home improvement and real estate.
  • Stephen “tWitch” Boss served as a guest judge on HGTV’s Design Star: Next Gen, which was hosted by his wife Allison Holker.
  • The couple were also planning to launch their own talk show, as well as a new dance competition show and a game show. Stephen and Allison also collaborated with Dick’s Sporting Goods on a line of athletic and leisure wear.

Stephen “tWitch” Boss death

As confirmed by the LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner, Stephen “tWitch” Boss died by suicide on December 13 from a gunshot wound to the head.

  • Allison Holker broke her silence on social media after announcing her husband’s demise. She shared a picture of her with Stephen on Instagram and remarked how much she missed him.

  • Ellen DeGeneres took to Twitter to share her condolences for her long-time friend and collaborator.

Life and career

tWitch joined The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2014 as a guest DJ. He continued to work on the show until its finale in 2022 and also served as an executive producer since 2020.

  • Stephen also served as a contestant-turned-judge on So You Think You Can Dance and a host of The Real Dirty Dancing
  • tWitch’s love for dancing spread from TV into film thanks to small gigs in the films Blades of Glory and Hairspray, as well as performing on Dancing with the Stars in 2013.

Stephen’s cause of death became an immediate topic of discussion on social media. It sparked debate on the need for more mental health awareness and suicide prevention. The world will surely miss the cheer and energy he brought to his work, day in and day out.
