Anime Weekend Atlanta - What will it be about + where to get tickets?

Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA), the largest anime convention in the Southeast of USA, is gearing up for its highly anticipated event in Atlanta, Georgia. AWA is a four-day celebration of Japanese culture, anime, manga, and general pop-culture. This year, the convention will take place from October 26 to October 29, 2023, at the Cobb Galleria and the Renaissance Waverly Hotel.

With over 32,000 unique attendees in 2022, AWA has become a hub for anime enthusiasts, cosplayers, and fans of all things Japanese. The convention promises an exciting lineup of events, including cosplay showcases, concerts, video gaming tournaments, anime premieres, anime music videos, and meet and greets with popular anime celebrities.

One of the highlights of Anime Weekend Atlanta is the stunning cosplay scene. Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) is set to bring an impressive lineup of musical guests to the stage this year, promising an unforgettable musical experience for attendees. Among the talented performers invited to grace the AWA stage are Voia, BPM15Q, BURNOUT SYNDROMES, and PIXY. 

Other than this, many anime voice actors will also be participating in this program. Roger Clark, Eric Vale who is renowned for his voiceover of Yuki Soma in fruit basket and Kimblee in Fullmetal Alchemist will also be presenting in this most-awaited event.

How to book tickets?

To secure your spot at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2023, you can visit the official AWA website at https://awa-con.com. The registration for the event is also called as membership, booking of tickets or badges.

On the official website, participants are given option to purchase a 4-day, 3-day, 2-day and single day membership. The membership can be obtained online, with an option of getting it mailed at your doorstep with additional charges.

Accordingly booking of hotels is also available on the official website of AWA. Booking for the 4+ day tickets started on May 17, 2023.

However the booking for 3+ days tickets will become available starting at 10 AM on May 23, so be sure to mark your calendars and secure your preferred accommodations early. On the main page, you’ll find the links for hotel bookings, ensuring a convenient and comfortable stay during the convention. 

Where to stay?

Covid-19 regulations

At AWA, the safety and well-being of attendees are paramount. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the convention organizers have taken steps to prioritize the health of con-goers. 

While specific mandates and requirements may be subject to change based on public health guidance, AWA has previously aligned with recommended best practices, including vaccine mandates, mask requirements, and negative COVID-19 tests for entry.

As of now, no proof of vaccination, negative COVID-19 test, or masks will be required to attend AWA. However, it’s important to stay updated with the latest information and guidelines from AWA regarding COVID-19 safety protocols. Some guests may still request masks during interactions with attendees. It is also crucial to exercise common courtesy and refrain from attending if feeling unwell.
