Apex Legends is approaching its third anniversary, and to commemorate the occasion, developer Respawn Entertainment is giving away three free characters.
EA and Respawn are giving away Octane, Wattson, and Valkyrie as part of the free-to-play battle royale’s third-anniversary celebration. From February 8 through March 1, all you have to do is log in once a week to permanently unlock each character and earn themed cosmetic packs for each, including a legendary pack for Valkyrie.
Rewards
Legends are generally unlocked using in-game credits or premium currency. Octane and Wattson were the first new playable characters available to Apex Legends after its 2019 launch, so most loyal fans presumably already own them. Even if you already own the legends, you’ll still get the Thematic bundles for each character.

- Week one will take place from February 8 to February 15. Octane will take the lead. You will also receive three Thematic Packs in addition to the Legend.
- Wattson will be accessible throughout the second week of February, from the 15th to the 22nd. You’ll also get three Thematic Packs this time.
- Finally, from February 22 to March 1, Valkyrie will be available to play. She’ll also include the standard three Thematic Packs.
The Thematic Packs and the Legendary Pack will be a gift for you. A Legend, event, or item is usually related to a Thematic Pack. The third anniversary Thematic Packs are likely to offer goods in collaboration with that week’s Legend.

Apex Legends’ impending new season, Defiance, will coincide with the anniversary celebration. New cosmetics, the new legend Mad Maggie, improvements to the Olympus map, and a new 9v9 limited-time mode called Control with endless respawns will all be available in the future season.
