Following countless speculations, EA confirmed last month that they are bringing the Dead Space franchise back to life with a remake. EA Motive is behind the rerelease, which was created with the newest EA’s Frostbite engine model for PC and next-gen devices.

Eric Baptizat, who has operated on previous Assassin’s Creed games like Origins and Black Flag, recently revised his LinkedIn portfolio to say he’s the game director for Dead Space at EA Motive. This news was first noticed by VGC, so kudos to them for the keen eye!

We’re guessing there won’t be any skyscrapers to scale or objectives to assassinate in the new version, but we’re betting Baptizat’s love of world structures will flourish.

Dead Space Remake

Before joining EA, Baptizat worked as the Game Director for Ubisoft Montreal’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. From 2005 – 2018, Baptizat worked as the chief game designer on many Ubisoft games such as:

Black Flag – Assassin’s Creed IV
Freedom Cry – Assassin’s Creed
Assassin’s Creed Origins

According to rumors circulating, the Dead Space Remake will be based on the classic 2008 game but will include new mechanics implemented in subsequent installments of the installment. A launch date has yet to be determined.
