Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: The Last Chapter, All details

Two years after the latest release in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, its final DLC update launches on December 6. The Final Chapter DLC will end Eivor’s journey in what Ubisoft calls an intimate conclusion to the story. The Last Chapter promises a fitting closure to the Raven Clan and your time among them.

The Requirements

To access The Final Chapter quest, you’ll need to complete several parts of the game first. They are as follows:

  • Kill all the Order of the Ancients targets and learn its leader’s identity
  • Complete the Asgard and Jotunheim story arc quests
  • Upgrade the settlement to level 5 and have the Jomsviking barracks constructed
  • Complete the main storyline and pledge to all England territories

Aside from the main story continuation, there will be no time-limited festival events. Ubisoft will make rewards accessible through Merchants after The First Night of Samhain. There will also be additional rewards and a few more surprises reserved for when the developers finally say goodbye.

No New Game+?

One of the most highly requested features for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the New Game+ which many thought would be a part of this final DLC. The developers confirmed that they won’t implement this feature. They believe there isn’t enough replayability in the game to warrant a New Game+, leading them to decide against making it.

Some fans believe they’re not spending the extra effort on it because the company is already working on other games.

Other Assassin’s Creed Projects in Development

There is a lot of excitement mixed with some skepticism with Ubisoft’s latest Assassin’s Creed initiative. Many fans missed how the older games felt more realistic and had a story with deeper investment. The new Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be a platform designed specifically for future games in the franchise. Ubisoft also promised that they want to go back to their roots for their upcoming projects.

Among these will be an Assassin’s creed title set in Feudal Japan, a setting many fans have asked for. There will also be another project in the works that will explore the era of Witchcraft.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is unique because it does explore more into building a world and engaging it. Some aspects of it have been controversial, such as mythology and supernatural abilities. It goes a little deeper into this aspect following exploration of it in Odyssey and Origins.

Even then, many still enjoy Assassin’s Creed for what it is today, an action-adventure game with flashy assassinations.

Gamers who haven’t played Assassin’s Creed Valhalla may want to get a copy before this final DLC update. They’ll be able to play a full game filled with two years of DLC, bringing much more content from the base game. Several retailers are offering it up with a discount for Black Friday.
