Ubisoft has cautioned that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla would require a complete reinstall with title update 1.4.1. This basically means that implies you can expect a 77GB download on PC. However, the final size will reportedly also be somewhat less than the existing game’s pre-update size, excluding DLCs.
And these improvements also aren’t minor. Aside from planning for future DLC and expansions, version 1.4.1 will “provide speedier loading screens, enhanced world data streaming, and overall runtime efficiency”. According to Ubisoft, the “data restructuring” means that an update with an additional 34 GB has actually been reduced by roughly a gigabit.
Restructuring and More
- The mystery around the future content over which such restructuring has been premised, Ubisoft announced that Valhalla will be getting a second year of updates. This announcement dates back to June.
- It also included the possibility of several expansions that are underway which will be released in 2022. However, the publisher is yet to share all the details. The clues that have been spotted by fans in the Valhalla’s Trophy List suggest that Dawn of Ragnarok will be the first title that will be released.
According to data mining by YouTuber J0nathan, a character from a previous Assassin’s Creed game will reappear in a future questline. Meanwhile, as if the basic game’s 100+ hours of content weren’t enough, another leaker claims that a “huge DLC expansion” will be released in March. It’s said to be “God of War-style”. According to Ubisoft, the upcoming week’s update will need around
- 78GB on PC
- 67GB on PS4
- 40GB on PS5
- 62GB on Xbox One
- 71GB on Xbox Series X/S
The update, on the other hand, also claims to bring quicker loading screens, enhanced world data streaming, and overall runtime efficiency by unifying current game files. In addition, as described below, players may also expect decreased total game sizes across all platforms.
