Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla Will Bring Back The Hidden Blade

Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Ubisoft, in collaboration with BossLogic, revealed their newest entry into the beloved Assassin’s Creed franchise last night. The new game is called Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. This time around, we’re going to the Vikings period in history, Valhalla, to be specific. Ubisoft will premier a trailer tonight at 8:30 pm IST. While the artwork created by BossLogic is being circulated across all Ubisoft’s accounts, Ubisoft Montreal chose an artwork that shows the hidden blade in our protagonist’s left arm.

We don’t have a confirmation on who our protagonist is, at the moment, but we’re thinking it’s Odin or a character related to him. Now, if you’ve been keeping up with the recent Assassin’s Creed games, i.e., Origins, and Odyssey, you’d know how much people missed the Hidden Blade. Hidden Blade was the true shine of any Assassin’s Creed game. While you got to use the Hidden Blade in Origins, it was like the first-ever Hidden Blade and hence, not very powerful or convenient to use. You also don’t get the Hidden Blade right away as the game starts. How do you get it? Well, it’s spoiler territory and we won’t jump into it at the moment.

In Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, the only person with a Hidden Blade is Darius, in the DLC, Legacy of the First Blade. I never finished the game because I’m too biased with my #NotMyAssassinsCreed agenda, but as far as I know, you don’t get to operate a hidden blade at any point throughout the game.

The Original Artwork

The artwork BossLogic created didn’t have a Hidden Blade, period. But Ubisoft Montreal didn’t share that artwork. Instead, they shared a modified version of it that had the Hidden Blade. Take a look at the artwork by BossLogic –

As you can clearly see, the left arm doesn’t show any hidden blade.

And hence, it’s confirmed we’d be getting back the Hidden Blade in Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. Hopefully in its true and powerful form.

Ubisoft will drop the World Premiere Trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla tonight at 8:30 pm IST. Be prepared for some action and drama, and once you’ve watched it, come back to Spiel Times for analysis and interesting news about the game.

  1. You really must not no anything about these games… They have all had hidden blades. His name has been revealed by the devs so you need to actually do some research. Also a. Fan of these games might jump to the conclusion that ODIN might be an “ISU”, you know, the people who made humans in the story. 😭
