Two of the k-pop kings from BIGBANG are preparing for a comeback with solo projects. Taeyang who recently charted with his single VIBE featuring BTS’ Jimin announces an April comeback with an album. Meanwhile, G-Dragon updates about his solo project during a Harper’s Bazaar interview.
Taeyang plans for an April comeback with an album
The Black Label of BIGBANG Taeyang confirmed that he is ready to make a comeback on April 25, 2023. This will mark his first album in six years following his 2017 release White Night. There isn’t much known about the album yet however its music video has been shot and Taeyang will also be appearing on various music shows and broadcasts for its promotions, as confirmed by industry insiders.
There are many speculations about the upcoming album following its announcement. Fans are excited to know more about its theme and tracklist. They are also wondering if there will be any featuring artists on the album. One of the names that come to mind for it is G-dragon who recently shared an update about his solo activities during a Harper’s Bazaar shoot.
G-dragon updates fans about his upcoming solo activities
The K-pop fashionista G-dragon is the face of Harper’s Bazaar’s April cover with the title of an Irreplaceable Man. He appears in his signature rebellious charms and path-defining aura on three unique covers. He looks mesmerizing in each version as he pulls off the classic and luxurious Chanel look.
During his interview for the same Harper’s Bazaar upcoming April issue, G-dragon touched upon his plans for solo activities. The star didn’t confirm anything however he assured his fans that they will be seeing him soon in various projects. He specifically answered regarding his solo album saying that he is excited about it in various ways and it is progressing well.
“I wanted to tell my fans that I am working ON a project that I am excited about in many ways. I can’t disclose how much exact progress has been made… but there are several projects that I am working on at once. They are progressing step by step.”
G-dragon’s mention of various projects rose speculations if he will feature in Taeyang’s upcoming April comeback. If he does appear then it is bound to be one of the most notable tracks of 2023. The duo previously featured on each other’s album multiple times while working as BIGBANG before finally collaborating as GD x Taeyang with the 2014 solo Good Boy. The Electrohop song topped Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart and sold millions of copies in South Korea.
Fans will get to know more about Taeyang’s upcoming album in the coming weeks as its teasers and tracklist are unveiled. Currently, fans can expect to see the Eyes, Nose, Lips singer appear on various music shows and broadcasts for promotions and also hopefully top charts with his upcoming album.
