“Superstar” Billy Graham, a WWE Hall of Fame inductee famed for his “outrageous” ring gear and entertaining interviews, died at the age of 79 following a lengthy struggle with several health issues.
His wife and daughter were by his side when he passed away on Wednesday after having the life support removed, according to the former WWE Heavyweight Champion’s family, who spoke to TMZ.

Eldridge Wayne Coleman is Graham’s real name. For the last few months, he had been struggling with a number of medical conditions. Billy Graham was hospitalized and on life support, according to a post on his Facebook page on Monday by his wife Valerie.
“Please urgent prayers needed for my husband. The doctors wanted to remove him from life support tonight, but I refused. He’s a fighter and his will is strong even if his body isn’t. God is our hope,” the statement reads.

Billy Graham had a long history of health issues

Graham, who died on Wednesday at 79, is being mourned by the wrestling community.
Graham was dealing with “very serious health issues,” including “a major infection in his ears and skull that may take six months of intravenous IVs, congestive heart failure, diabetes, and hearing loss due to the infection,” according to a GoFundMe campaign.
Billy Graham’s cause of death

Billy’s body suffered as a result of his recent health problems. He reportedly had congestive heart failure, diabetes, hearing loss, and a serious ear and skull infection. Graham’s kidneys were also deteriorating. His family claimed that he dropped 45 pounds during this time.
Billy’s wife, Valerie, said he had spent the previous three weeks in the ICU. She claimed that initially, she refused to allow the medics to remove Billy’s life support on Monday night but eventually gave in to their request to remove the support.

Billy Graham, who revolutionized the wrestling business and is hailed by WWE as “possibly the single-most influential performer in WWE history,” profoundly impacted many wrestlers.
Billy’s friends and fans took to Twitter to express their sadness and grief over the incident. Twitter users are paying tribute to the icon as 16-time world champion Ric Flair announced that Graham has “left us.”

Billy Graham and his life as a wrestler
Billy Graham first participated in pro wrestling in the late 1960s. He began his career as a wrestler with his legal name. When he made his National Wrestling Alliance debut, he switched to Billy Graham.
Billy was the previous World Heavyweight Champion of the WWE. The ‘Superstar’ was also inducted in 2004 into the WWE Hall of Fame. He gained popularity in the day while competing for the American Wrestling Association and then the World Wrestling Federation. He is renowned for his skill as a wrestler and a bodybuilder.
Billy coached several big-time wrestlers, including Hulk Hogan, Scott Steiner, Ric Flair, and Jesse Ventura.
