On December 18, several posts criticizing BOYNEXTDOOR‘s bodyguard for allegedly assaulting and violently pushing a female fan began to gain attention. The video clip attached to the articles soon reached social media platforms including X (former Twitter) and went viral.

In the video, a fan is seen walking backward to take photos of the members as they try to exit the premises. The girl is quite far from the main crowd but a bodyguard pushes her and she falls. Many of the other people captured in the clip appear shocked by the action and turn around to look at her.
Many netizens who watched this clip criticized the bodyguard for overexerting force alleging that it was abuse and assault. On the other hand, many netizens have defended the security stating that the incidents involving mob and Sasaeng fans have greatly increased so nothing can be said before learning the complete context.
Kpop bodyguards can face legal charges
The BOYNEXTDOOR fan who suffered a fall from a bodyguard’s push can file a complaint against him in the South Korean court. Previously, one of the bodyguards of NCT Dream was prosecuted by The Incheon International Airport Police Department after he allegedly pushed and injured a female fan.

The incident occurred with the same pattern earlier this year. Fans had gathered at the terminal to click photos of NCT Dream exiting from the premises when one of their bodyguards pushed a fan who was standing further away from the group’s path.
The fan filed a legal complaint and officials initiated an investigation. Afterward, they submitted the case to the prosecution upon finding substantial evidence against the bodyguard. There aren’t reports of what punishment the guard received.
KOZ Entertainment releases apologetic statement
The boy group’s agency has issued an apology after the video went viral. They expressed their regret on behalf of their security personnel and shared that they have personally apologized to the people affected by the incident.

The company also relented the news that the bodyguard featured in the controversial clip has been dismissed from his duties and shall not be protecting the group anymore.
