Bronny James suffered a cardiact arrest during a workout at USC

Just in: Son of NBA superstar LeBron James, Bronny James, reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest during practice on Monday with the USC Trojans. Here are the latest updates on Bronny and his health status.

LeBron “Bronny” James Jr. reportedly collapsed on the court during a workout with USC

CALIFORNIA – Bronny James suddenly collapsed on the floor while working out with the USC Trojans before the season begins. The 18-year-old forward was immediately brought to the hospital and was treated in the ICU. The All-American baller committed to USC after graduating from Sierra Canyon. NBA insider Shams Charania was one of the first to report the incident.

“Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update media when there is more information. LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”

According to TMZ, a 911 distress call was made early in the morning on Monday, about 9:26 am. The location of the call was traced back to USC’s training facility, the Galen Center. It was revealed that the call was for Bronny who collapsed on the court. TMZ also added that their sources told them it was a very serious emergency. Thankfully, everything is fine.

Will Bronny James still be able to play basketball?

As of this writing, we have learned that Bronny is stable and has been removed from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after the incident. However, the young athlete’s family currently hasn’t made any comments about their son’s health issue or what caused the cardiac arrest. Despite that, everybody is optimistic that Bronny can return to the court very soon. He may need a lot of time to heal and recover to better prepare his body for the future. At this moment, Bronny’s health is bigger than basketball.

Earlier this year, we saw another athlete who suffered a similar fate – NFL’s Damar Hamlin

Back in January, Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin suddenly collapsed on the field after being tackled by Cincinnati Bengals’ Tee Higgins. Later on, it was revealed that Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest. Various medical doctors have revealed the speculated underlying cause behind Damar Hamlin’s devastating cardiac arrest during Monday Night Football. According to experts, the second-year NFL player has a “healthy heart”. However, after receiving a tackle from Tee Higgins, Hamlin’s heart experienced a sudden irregular heartbeat or arrhythmia. The arrhythmia that took place seconds after getting hit on the chest resulted in what doctors would call Commotio Cordis or basically severe trauma to the chest area which lead to Hamlin getting a cardiac arrest.

Hamlin was quickly revived by the medical team and was immediately brought to the hospital. A few weeks later, he would fully recover and has already returned to playing football.
