BTS dropped their digital single entitled Take Two. Before the BTS 10th Anniversary FESTA @Yeouido, the seven-member boy group has this new track wrapped in love and gratitude for their fans. Jungkook opened the song with the lyrics, “Will you stay?” After a few lines, Jimin sang, “Will you go?” And I first thought that they wanted to reminisce about the long years they spent with their fans through the ups and downs of their career.
With V and Jin singing the climactic pre-chorus, two lines got a hold of me. Taehyung’s “We been walkin’ so many ways” and Jin’s “Youth with you by my side” like they’re talking to their close friends and family, and in this sense, their fandom: ARMY.
And when I felt I was about to recover, the chorus welcomed me with, “Yeah, we never felt so young. When together, sing the song,” which should probably take you back to the good, old times. Whether you’re one of the OG ARMYs or a new fan, you can feel that you’ve also gone through your youth with them as they grew old with you.
Here comes the second verse with j-hope and RM’s raps heard. The lyrics? They know how to touch their fans’ hearts with their simple appreciation. When RM sings, “We are given to each other like this,” listeners can genuinely feel the emotions these boys are giving.
The bridge is my personal favorite, and hearing the rapline sing every word gave me chills. According to Genius’ English translation, the trio sang, “It was possible because I was with you / I was happy being with you / I breathe in your voice / I stood up with your tears / Do I deserve your love? / The intersection of souls we’ve created over the years / I am so grateful and happy to be with you / Let’s continue to be happy in the future.” Need I say more?

Aside from my quite emotionally explained lyrics, BIGHIT MUSIC shared the real message of Take Two. “The song conveys their appreciation toward ARMY for all the love you shower them with and their desire to always be together with you,” the agency wrote in the release information on Weverse. The seven members participated in creating their “precious gift” for all ARMYs.
