Bungie is working on a new IP about which we know little to nothing.
Back in 2018, the studio filed a trademark called “Matter.” But we haven’t heard anything about it since then.
A new job listing however has given us more insight into what this new IP might be all about.
Noticed first by thegamepost.com, Bungie is hiring for an Incubation Investment Designer. Here’s what the job listing says-
“You are the glue between the sword and the reward. You will work in tandem with our sandbox and economy teams to build and distribute items to our players. Living inside a giant database of hundreds of baubles, weapons, and armor is nothing new to you. And neither is building a system to cleverly distribute those items in a necromancer’s dungeon.”
The job listing further elaborates that they are looking for someone who has “Experience designing, documenting, and executing itemization, investment, or any other fundamental RPG game system at any scale.
We don’t know what exactly this means yet but it sure seems as if Bungie’s next game is fantasy RPG featuring sorcery and melee combat, unlike the Destiny Games.
Whatsoever be the case, we may hear about Bungie’s next game at Sony’s PS5 games event as they are the marketing partner for the studio.
