Here are all we know so far from Call of Duty Project Aurora.
In March 2022, Activision announced that a new Call of Duty Mobile game will be released. There is no official title yet but it is under the code name Project Aurora.
The developers, last 2nd week of May, clarified explicitly that there is no official release of details. This is in light of the Reddit posts and YouTube channel rumors among the community.
Closed Alpha Testing
The game is currently under closed alpha testing with a limited number of players. Activision pre-selected testers are the only ones who can access the game right now. Although, it seems that they will be expanding the number of players soon depending on their development milestones
Closed Alpha testing ensures that the game will live up to the standards of players and is compatible with most mobile devices.
Game Features
While closed alpha testing is on its way, Activision mentioned that this is just a slice of what players will experience. All testers’ saved data are all temporary, and developers will reset the progress once the testing phase is concluded.
Tech support for playtesters is also limited. However, In-game feedback systems and patches are regular to address the improvements to be made.
Call of Duty Warzone Mobile Experience
Activision hopes to bring Call of Duty Battle Royal Experience to mobile like some of the Popular Titles, PUBG New Estate. It can be forecasted that this game would be a success based on the Call of Duty: Mobile downloads of over 650 Million.
Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard
If you remember, Microsoft acquired Activision on the 18th of January 2022. This is the biggest deal in the gaming industry with a whopping $68.7B. This might be good news for both fans and employees.
Microsoft promises to bring a change of culture. Activision Blizzard is facing multiple lawsuits on accusations of constant sexual harassment and labor protests from Call of Duty Workers, prior to the acquisition. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella along with his lieutenant Phill Spencer ensures that the culture change is at the top of its priority.
