Stray’s release was met with positive reviews from critics and fans. However, some fans are wondering: can we play Stray on mobile? Read on to find out all about Stray, the available platforms for the game, and if you can play it on mobile devices.
When Stray was released just over a week ago, both critics and fans weren’t holding back on giving the game its much-deserved high reviews. And despite having a limited release for the PlayStation consoles as well as the PC, it didn’t stop gamers from wanting to try it out themselves.
However, there are those wondering if Annapurna Interactive and BlueTwelve Studio have plans to release it on other platforms. Specifically, those who are playing on mobile devices such as their phones or tablets.
Is Stray available on mobile?
- As of writing, there is no official mobile port for Stray. But if you have the patience to search on the Internet for an APK of Stray, then you may have a shot at playing the game on mobile.
- However, this is highly discouraged since downloading these files may raise problems for your mobile devices. Although a couple of screenshots may be tempting you to download that APK file, chances are it contains malware.
- And if you override your device’s security to install that APK to play Stray on mobile, you may be at risk. Some viruses are known to disguise themselves as APKs since these are easy to install from the Internet.
So, the best thing to do is wait. Given the amount of success Stray has from a limited platform release, releasing it on other platforms can help boost sales. Even though it may be tempting to download, be careful of the files you get from the Internet.
There’s a chance for Stray to come to Xbox consoles
As we mentioned, Stray is currently available only on PlayStation consoles and PC. But if we factor in how most of Annapurna Interactive’s games are available on the Xbox Game Pass, it’s likely Stray will come to the platform too.
For now, you can only play Stray on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the PC. But like we said, the game was successful at launch. It will only be a matter of time before the devs decide to release it on other platforms.
And with the growing popularity of mobile gaming, there’s a chance it may also come to the App Store or Google Play Store. Furthermore, it may become available on the Xbox Cloud Gaming. But we’ll just have to wait and see what the devs have planned for the future of Stray.
