Critics Choice Awards 2023 – Brendan Fraser wins Best Actor + Full list of winners

Brendan Fraser Wins Best Actor in Critics Choice Awards 2023

In what could be one of show business’s greatest comebacks, veteran actor Brendan Fraser wins big in the 2023 Critics Choice Awards yesterday. Fraser starred in the drama movie titled “Whale” where he plays Charlie, a reclusive and obese professor who tries to get another chance to reconnect with his estranged daughter Ellie (Sadie Sink). The film gathered mixed criticism but during its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, Whale and Brendan Fraser received a standing ovation from the viewers. Fraser received his award at the event and gave a heartfelt speech after the film’s success. The 54-year-old actor was famous back in the ’90s and early 2000s. His most popular films were The Mummy, George of The Jungle, and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Though his career was deemed to be over, Brendan Fraser made a huge comeback to acting just recently.

Brendan Fraser had quite the competition as he was up against the Golden Globe Best Actor Austin Butler (Elvis) and top stars like Tom Cruise (Top Gun: Maverick), and Colin Farrell (Banshees of Inisherin). Paul Nighy (Living) and Paul Mescal (Aftersun) were also nominated for the award.
