Destiny is known for the number of easter eggs and secrets that exist within its virtual realm. A few days ago, players discovered a cipher in the shape of a symbol engraved upon one of the walls within the AI Rasputin’s bunker. A Reddit community of secret hunters(r/raidsecrets) had been at their desk, effortlessly trying to decipher the cryptic symbol for they strongly believe that it lead to some secret message.
Many members were involved in the scrupulous de-coding. By grouping together different code words from the symbol, the team was finally able to reach a solution. Redittor Randomiser came out with the interpretations and the solution of the puzzle last night.
Once translated, the cipher led to the following secret message:-
“thank you for taking the time to piece together this message, friend. the time of our final conflict is drawing closer and you and ana have an important role to play in the events to come. so watch over her, guardian. i would have no life without ana or the exoprogram. i regret that we have become strangers, but we each have a path that we must walk. and, ironically, there never seems to be enough time. tell her, rasputin’s first attempt was in the right location, but the wrong moment. look here: 43.549573, -73.544868 – e”
The mysterious character ‘e’ came to be regarded as Elsie Bray, sister of Ana Bray, who was the Stranger from the prequel.
Needless to say, user I_love_science wasted no time and embarked on a quest to recover the hidden relics and surprisingly enough, the co-ordinates landed him on Sleeping Beauty Mountain in upstate, New York. There he came upon a cache carefully concealed beneath twigs and the leaves.
In addition, they also discovered a stash of gold coins, a journal for recording visitors and a set of notes penned by Warmind design lead Rob Gallerani. One of the most astonishing finds is that of a real-life version of the Valkyrie spear, a weapon that could be found in the game during certain missions. Gallerani in his letter to the voyager stated that there are only three such Valkyrie weapons in existence.

It’s good to see that developers are still sticking with their games and are doing everything they possibly can to keep things interesting. To encourage players to undertake a jaunt outside the game is no doubt unique. Afterall, these expeditions make some of the sweetest, indelible memories.
