This chapter of the game takes you on top of a giant whale. Keep moving forward until you finish a cut scene. You’ll find yourself on top of floating islands and a harder set of puzzles along the way. So here’s our Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow Boss Fight and Broken Wood Cart Guide.
Spoiler Warning: Please note that this article contains potential spoilers for those who have not completed the game. Proceed with caution if you wish to preserve the surprise and enjoyment of experiencing the game firsthand.
Flower Achievement:
First thing first, head north past the broken pathway. You will see a target on the right side of the broken cart. Command your companion to shoot so the basket of stone will fall and break the wood covering a secret area. Interact with the flower to get the achievement.
How to Cross
- Interact with the cart next to the small dome pavilion; you should be able to pick up the wheel. Next, command your companion to head north and jump across the broken pathway.
- Throw the wheel towards her, and she will catch it. Attach this wheel to the cart near where you got the achievement. Ask your companion to push the carriage with you.
- This will open the ground with magical powers that will boost your jump, and you’ll be able to cross the platform without problems!
Open the door
Climb up the ladder near the door and onto the wooden platform. Grab the tree branch and move towards the tip to reveal the power source. Ask your companion to shoot it so you can get a piece and use it to power up the door and move on to the next area.
Giant Plant Boss Fight
The boss fight can be tricky, but you should be able to beat him quickly with the right timing and movements. The rumbles in the ground indicate where its roots will pop out, so make sure to pay attention.
-
Stage 1:
- The first stage is your introduction to the boss’s mechanics. During its second attack, the roots will give you 3 bomb-like things which you can use to throw at the plant.
- This will make the giant plant vulnerable. Command your companion to aim at the plant once it opens up. Just ensure you throw the bomb in time, as it will explode a few seconds later! This sequence will happen twice.
-
Stage 2:
- The second stage will add a new attack. After 2 regular attacks, the giant plant will whip across the arena with its roots.
- You have to carefully time your jump to survive. The trick that will work best is to use LShift and move opposite of the root attack.
-
- The first attack will be from north to south and then south to north after a second later. This is the last stage, so you just have to survive the root splash, and you’ll be able to move on to the next area.
Get the Cube
- The next area requires timing. Command your companion to stay at the edge of the broken steps just west of the entrance. Now, go to the switch next to the ladder.
- Activate it and ask your companion to shoot at the power source. Quickly head down the ladder and pick up the cube. Throw it towards your companion and climb back up the ladder again. The platform will drop down a few seconds later, so be quick!
- Once your companion places the cube in the generator, activate the switch to lower the gate and eliminate the aggressive plant. Next, remove the cube and command your companion to head to the newly opened gate.
- Throw it towards her and then jump across too. The two of you will need to activate the gate together. And that’s it! You’re ready to move on to the next area.
