Since this is only a rumor, take these words with a grain of salt. The gaming world is full of thousands of rumors that are proven false. Be it Spider-Man 2’s online multiplayer or Days Gone 2’s potential development. Now, what we do believe is this rumor might be false.
Days Gone 2 in Development Rumors Proven False
The director of the game Days Gone, Jeff Ross, shared on Twitter that he was bummed out after watching the recent PlayStation Showcase. It reminded him how the sequel to Days Gone would have been released a month ago.
When someone asked why the sequel couldn’t still happen, Ross explained that too much time has passed, many team members have left the studio, and Sony is not interested in making it. So it seems like Days Gone will not have any more games in the future.

What went wrong
- Days Gone was by no means a bad game. It had an amazing story in an immersive zombie-filled world.
- It got overshadowed by other titles released in the year, resulting in its low sales. We could almost place Days Gone 2 in the same category as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Good games with plenty of room for improvement.
- Sony didn’t think that coming up with a sequel wasn’t a good idea.
- As a result, Sony had denied any possibility of a sequel.
- This means that the chances of it happening now are very low or even nonexistent.

In conclusion, while there have been rumors circulating about the development of Days Gone 2 for the PlayStation 5, it appears that there is a high possibility these rumors are false. The director of Days Gone, Jeff Ross was also seen expressing his disappointment on social media.
