Dead Space Remake Confirmation, Creators and More

For those who don’t know, Dead Space is an award- winning science fiction/horror and media franchise developed by Visceral Games, which is owned by Electronic Arts. The series is set in a 26th century science fiction universe featuring environments, weapons, and characters typical of the genre.

The first game in the series received great commercial and critical success. But the after the financial failure of Dead Space 3, it was discontinued. Well, now we have some exciting news for the fans, as a Dead Space remake is now under development. Here’s all we know about it.

The Announcement

There have been many speculations regarding Dead Space in the past but now we have an official confirmation. EA has revealed Dead Space Remake during the EA Play Live Event which was held on 22nd July last week.

Unfortunately, no release date was announced which leads us to believe that the game is in early stages of development and will not be released anytime this year or even the next. Rest depends on when and how EA chooses to reveal more information about the game’s development. As soon as we receive more information about its release, we’ll surely be back to you. Team Involved

Creative Director of Dead Space remake – Roman Campos-Oriola

The speculations which were made about Dead Space remake were because of the continuous updates we got about the people EA was hiring for a new project. Some of them include:

  • Creative Director Roman Campos-Oriola was hired in October 2020 specifically to lead the Dead Space remake. He has been involved in projects like Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon (2012), Conflict Zone (2001), Real Steel series and Absolver (2017).
  • The art director in charge is Mike Yazijian, who was involved win the development of games like Star Wars Squadrons and Batman Arkham Origins as well as Dead Space 2
  • Former UX director Dino Ignacio is working as the consultant director with EA Motive. He was one of the developers of the OG Dead Space
  • Gary Stewart, a BioWare level designer of the Mass Effect series is leading level design for the Dead Space remake
  • The game director behind Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Eric Baptizat, also joined Motive earlier this year on an undisclosed role.

With a team consisting of so many big names, one thing is for sure, Dead Space remake would be a treat for the fans who have been patiently waiting for the game.
