Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles gets entertainment arc as DLC

It was only natural that the next big DLC for Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles Game would be incomplete without the arc that really marked the epitome of the peak of action animation. The thing about Demon Slayer’s Entertainment arc is that it was one of those story arcs that really shifted everything about the story in terms of reception.

Of course, Mugen Train had already set the bar way too high for Demon Slayer anime when it got animated. Mugen Train became a worldwide phenomenon. The next big task for ufotable was to live to the glory of the action animation of Mugen Train. The Entertainment district arc not only weighed, but I’d say far surpassed its predecessor.

Nezuko was already released as “Nezuko Advanced Demon Form” set. Spoiler alert, that’s Nezuko’s power-up that’s first revealed in The Entertainment District

The Game has had a total of four free updates as of now.

  • The first update came in November and added Rui and Akaza as playable characters.
  • It was followed by Yahaba and Susamaru in the second, Yushiro, Tamaya and Enmu in the third. The third update only included the three characters as Hinokami Chronicles DLC characters and not free playable.
  • The fourth update came in the following year’s August and allowed for astonishing group battles. The group battles allow eight people to match up in a room.

The Story Mode

Nezuko in Demon Slayer Hinokami Chronicles DLC

  • The gameplay isn’t anything complex. If anything it has two simple systems. One is a story mode that follows the original gameplay. The story mode feels staggeringly similar to Naruto Ninja Storm’s story mode.
  • There is a single-player exploration set in a semi-open world. One can steer through a playable field as per the story continuation. The story strictly follows the original source and does not deviate.

Battle Mode

  • Although critics would say the story mode may be stale at times but the same isn’t true for the second mechanic: Battle Mode.
  • The Battle Mode allows players to put a two-vs-two against any characters of their choosing. The players can control the two characters of their team while the opponent is CPU.

Kimetsu No Yaiba Hinokami Kepputan may fail to catch your attention against the existence of giants like Jump Force or heavier developments like Dragon Ball Kakarot. But the larger point is that it is still pretty enjoyable. It kind of reminds you of older games, those that Nintendo and Gameboy used to release.

Gameboy Advance Dragonball Advanced Adventures is a title that comes to mind when I think of a battle mode and just a story mode mechanic in any game. Yet such a trope isn’t unused in modern fighting games. Tell us how you like Hinokami Chronicles below, as we keep you posted with the world of Anime, News, Cinema, and our favorite, Gaming.
