The fishing feature in Destiny 2 has become extremely popular, and players are really hooked on it (what a nice pun, yet again). If you ask what’s so special about fishing in a game, everything is. Fishing in games is undoubtedly super fun! Pick up a fishing rod, sit by the lake, and enjoy. How to Unlock the Fishing Feature
To unlock the fishing feature in Destiny 2, you must first complete the first section of the seasonal quest: Into the Depths. Afterward, you’ll need to meet Hawthorne in the Tower Bazaar. This will initiate a fishing tutorial quest called “Gone Fishin’.
Upon the completion of this quest, the fishing feature will be unlocked. However, there’s more to it. As we know, fishing will require some bait. So, where do you get this bait from? Let’s find out.
How to acquire Bait
To acquire bait, you can complete seasonal activities such as Salvage and Deep Dive, participate in playlist activities like Vanguard Ops or Crucible, or engage in public events.
Whichever option you select, remember that it will likely require multiple completions to gather enough bait. Congratulations, you are free to fish now but WHERE?
Where to Fish
After obtaining bait, your next step is to locate a fishing spot. You can find several fishing holes in the EDZ, on Nessus, and in Savathun’s Throne World on the Destiny 2 map. To pinpoint the exact location, keep an eye out for the blue diamond-shaped indicator on the director of the HUD.
How to Fish
- Find the fishing spot and walk out onto the docks.
- Press the required button to cast your fishing line.
- Be patient, as fish may nibble, but wait until the lure is pulled under and the fishing line becomes taut.
- Press the button again to catch the fish.
- If your timing is perfect, you’ll achieve a perfect catch, which increases your chances of catching a legendary or exotic fish.
What to do with the Fish
Yes, enough of the fishing. As you reel in those fish, you’ll need a place to store them. This is where the H.E.L.M. comes in. Located in the Tower, approach the H.E.L.M.’s console and deposit all your fish. Oh, and don’t forget the sweet gear rewards you’ll get for handing in those legendary and exotic fishy finds!
