Ojiro “Moppin” Fumoto, the creator of well-known roguelike shooter Downwell left Nintendo after serving for most of 2018.

Posting his thoughts on Twitter, Fumoto said, “I was working at Nintendo for most of 2018 but I quit at the end of the year to pursue being an indie dev again.”

“Working there was an incredible experience but ultimately I found my passion to simply be making a thing I want to make,” Fumoto added.

Since Fumoto served as a valuable employee at Nintendo, his followers wanted to know his experience at the multi-billion dollar company. Unfortunately and quite funnily, Fumoto replied with this –

Making a transition from a company like Nintendo isn’t something every developer could imagine. We wish Ojiro Fumoto all the best and an excellent year ahead.
