Katt Williams beef with comedians

Let’s start 2024 with love, peace, and a Katt Williams special show! The famous comedian opened a can of worms during an interview with Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast on January 3. The year is just starting and Katt is already out there collecting comedians’ and celebrities’ heads. Here are some of the most sensational Katt Williams beef throughout his career.

11. Dave Chappelle

Did any of you remember that there was a time when Dave Chappelle and Katt Williams broke the internet with an all-out war? Many years ago, when Twitter (now X) was just starting, Chappelle found out that there was already an account that held his name. The beloved stand-up comedian went along with it and thought it was fun until the fake account went ballistic and tried dissing some of his friends, including Katt Williams.

To no one’s surprise, Williams responded online and talked back to the fake Chappelle account. The latter apologized to the former for talking smack about him on Twitter, but Katt Williams denied having a Twitter account. Apparently, there was a fake Dave Chappelle and a fake Katt Williams who were having a back-and-forth online altercation. Oddly enough, there was already a Twitter war between the two comedians. Even though this beef was already squashed and both celebrities just laughed it off every time this topic resurfaced, it was a shocking scene on the internet at the time.

10. Joe Rogan

One of the casualties of the Katt Williams’ exposé was UFC commentator and comedian, Joe Rogan. According to Williams, he was never invited to Rogan’s podcast and claims that the podcaster likes to have the presence of comedians who were never funny.

However, Rogan responded positively and even asked Williams if he was willing to be on his podcast. Sounds like the beef between them was over even before it started. Anyway, Katt’s point is that he was one of the entertainers who gets ridiculed by the mainstream media, and gives props to Shannon Sharpe for giving him the spotlight.

9. Wanda Smith and Tiffany Haddish

If you think Katt Williams is only dissing black men, then you’re probably wrong. Back in 2018, during an interview with Wanda Smith’s Frank and Wanda in the Morning show, the Los Angeles-based comic gave his honest thoughts about the famous Tiffany Haddish. In his own words, Williams said: “They like her (Haddish) because she wants to sleep with a white man”. Indeed, it was a bold statement considering that Haddish was married to a white guy.

In that same episode, Williams roasted the host, Wanda Smith, after being disrespected multiple times. Let’s just say never talk trash to a genius comedian.

Even up to this day, Williams still believes Haddish’s success was just a fluke. Both personalities haven’t settled their beef because Tiffany is still out there clapping back at Williams. Unfortunately, most of her fans believe it’s not doing her any good.

8. Tyler Perry/Wesley Snipes/Martin Lawrence/Chris Tucker/Ricky Smiley

If there’s one thing you should know about Katt Williams, it’s that the famous comic has always stood by his principles. He was a movie star in the late ‘90s and early 2000s before the likes of Kevin Hart (and other samples please) became the staple for comedy projects today. The thing that probably kept Williams from making more movies during his heyday was that he never wanted to be emasculated by putting on a dress. There’s already a long list of guys who’ve done cross-dressing to star in films, but Katt did not want to be a part of that.

Some of the most popular names who have once portrayed themselves as a woman were Tyler Perry (A Madea Franchise), Martin Lawrence (Big Momma’s House), Rickey Smiley (First Sunday), and even Wesley Snipes, who portrayed Noxeema Jackson in “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar”. Snipes’ role was supposed to be played by Williams, but the comedian declined because, again, he does not and will never wear a dress.

Williams went on to reveal that a black comedian putting on a dress in a movie was the stepping stone for the actor to reach greater heights in Hollywood. According to Katt, it’s like selling one’s soul to become famous. Hearing this from Katt, it definitely sounds dark.

On the other hand, Williams was convinced Chris Tucker was connected to the late Jeffrey Epstein and that the Rush Hour actor visited the infamous Epstein Island.

“And the Chris Tucker that we got now is ‘Epstein Island’ Chris Tucker, not Smokey,” Williams said.

7. Michael Blackson/Faizon Love

Williams humbly admits that there are numerous comedians who are far better than him in the industry. He even gave mad love to the late Bernie Mac, who he believes is the King of Comedy. However, the tactless comedian didn’t hold back as he threw some shade at some fellow comedians like Wild ‘N Out’s Michael Blackson and Faizon Love.

It’s truly remarkable how Williams hates these two comedians. Just by looking at his body language (and of course, his comments), you’d probably know that Williams despises Blackson and that he already hates the alleged fake African accent.

6. Will Smith and Chris Rock

In 2022, the Will Smith and Chris Rock fiasco at the Oscars became one of the most unforgettable scenes on live television. After the sensational “slap”, Katt Williams reacted and gave his thoughts about the matter, but it wasn’t what people were expecting. Katt, in his usual self, commented that it was just all for show and the slap was actually scripted to get more viewership.

But, in 2019, Williams was already calling out Chris Rock for being a guy who sold his soul to “you know what”. He also claims that Chris was a racist and was controlled by the elites of Hollywood, just like Will Smith.

5. Diddy and Jermaine Dupri

Katt Williams isn’t known to be the guy who tries to hide things. It’s actually the contrary. For many years, he has been telling everyone how dreadful, vile, and sinister Hollywood is. There even came a time when he got canceled for outing Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein and talking trash to Michael Jackson and R. Kelly. As it turns out, everything Williams was saying was true.

Lest we forget, Williams had beef with Diddy and Jermaine Dupri many years ago. The comedian accused both rappers of being p*dophiles and groomers as he exposed their exploits on the then-young hip-hop duo Kriss Kross. In 2011, Katt called Jermaine the King of P*dophiles, which triggered the popular rap artist. Jermaine, a hip-hop producer and rapper, clapped back at Williams after that allegation. However, it was all just talk and Jermaine’s camp never held a case against Williams, suggesting that all of the allegations may just be true.

4. Ludacris

Williams was already on a roll by calling out multiple big names in Hollywood. But, he still wasn’t done. One of his biggest revelations was that Ludacris agreed to be part of the Illuminati in exchange for $200 million. He even called Ludacris’ wife “ugly”!

And Ludacris’ response? A freestyle rap. Yes, a rap. Well, to be fair, it’s just now that we’re hearing about this feud, but it’s as if they have been in the middle of a tense relationship for many years given how detailed Williams exposed the Fast and the Furious franchise and Ludacris’ rise to fame.

3. Steve Harvey

Actually, the beef between Steve Harvey and Katt Williams goes way back in 2009, when the latter challenged the former to a joke-off in order to know who really is The King of Comedy. Harvey and Williams were co-headlining an event in Detroit during New Year’s Eve. However, fans never got to see the battle as Harvey was having none of it.

Then, during his interview with Shannon Sharpe in the Club Shay Shay podcast, Williams re-ignited the beef after alleging Steve Harvey of being a fraud. The 52-year-old comedian accused The Family Feud host of stealing jokes from Mark Curry. He even went on to rant that Harvey was never that talented as he couldn’t be a movie icon. Moreover, Williams labeled Harvey as Mr. Potato Head, which everyone found to be very outrageous. It’s safe to say that their beef won’t be squashed anytime soon.

2. Cedric the Entertainer

Another comedian that Williams accused of copying scripts and stand-up material is no other than Cedric the Entertainer. But, unlike Steve Harvey, Cedric was allegedly stealing from Katt Williams.

Cedric responded shortly after the allegations, but just like most people on this list, it did not end well for The Neighborhood actor.

1. Katt Williams vs Kevin Hart

Arguably Williams’ biggest feud is with the biggest comedian today, Kevin Hart. Yes, he’s the biggest because Kevin is probably the highest-paid comedian in Hollywood today.

Their beef actually began back in 2018, when Williams disrespectfully criticized Kevin Hart’s long-time friend and comedy partner, Tiffany Haddish. Haddish responded to Williams’ claims, and so did Hart. In a separate interview, Kevin Hart went all out on Katt Williams.

“When do you take responsibility for your actions? You had the shot, you were the guy. Have you ever used your platform to f**king bring the people under you up? You haven’t. So, because you haven’t, don’t s**t on those who now are.”

In 2024, it seems the beef between the two isn’t over. Williams called out Kevin Hart again for being the guy who accepts every role he has rejected in the last five years. He even insinuated that the Jumanji actor sold his soul to the Illuminati, just like Ludacris. While all of these are just based on what Katt said, it’s still a baffling mystery that is somehow making sense.
