Assassin’s Creed celebrated its 15th anniversary yesterday. During the celebration livestream, Ubisoft announced loads of new content and special events coming to the beloved franchise. Read on to find out more.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting free post-launch content
One of the highlights of Assassin’s Creed celebration livestream was the announcement of new content coming to Valhalla. According to Ubisoft, a new rogue-lite mode called The Forgotten Saga is coming this summer to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In the Forgotten Saga, players will be battling it out in Niflheim. Here, they’ll fight against waves of enemies. Moreover, it’s going to be free.
Furthermore, players are going to get the final chapter for Eivor’s story. However, the final chapter won’t release until the end of this year. The final chapter will be a free update to Valhalla players.
Other updates coming to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are the armory update, Master Challenge Pack 2, and an update to the Tombs of the Fallen where players can explore new caves to solve the mystery behind the Tombs.

Players can download Assassin’s Creed Origins for free for a short time
More freebies from Ubisoft include a free trial for Origins from June 16 to June 20. This comes after Ubisoft announced that Origins is getting a 60fps update for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. So if you’re still undecided on getting Origins for your console, you can try it out yourself and see Bayek in action.
The future of the franchise will be announced in September
As for one of the most important announcements for Ubisoft’s AC anniversary celebration, it seems they may be gearing up for an important revelation in September. According to Ubisoft, players are invited to tune in on September 2022 as they “unveil the future of Assassin’s Creed.”
From previous reports, we already know that there will be a live service experience called Infinity. According to Ubisoft, this game will allow players to play together and travel through multiple time periods and settings. However, there is no release date yet for this game.
But if this isn’t the “very special event” they are referring to, then we may be getting another Assassin’s Creed title. We can only wonder which time period it’ll take us to this time.
There is a dedicated website celebrating the game’s 15th anniversary
And to cap off the anniversary announcements, there is a dedicated website players can check out for more freebies. Each week, Ubisoft is offering content and rewards for the different Assassin’s Creed games. Right after the livestream, players can get Assassin’s Creed Origins tattoos and a naval pack for the Valhalla version.
Here is the official roadmap about the celebration from Ubisoft.
