Everything Announced at Today’s Nintendo Direct Mini (June 2022)

Prepare to be blown away!

The second half of 2022 is peeking through the window and the Nintendo Direct Mini is once again here to kick things off. Earlier, we saw a lot of new and returning titles in Nintendo’s Partner showcase. A showcase of third-party games from various beloved developers and game creators such as Ubisoft, Capcom, and Square Enix. Here, we have listed everything we have seen to be coming to the Nintendo Switch console very soon!

NieR: Automata – The End of YoRHa Edition

The beloved NieR: Automata is taking the center stage in Nintendo Switch on October 6. In this science-fiction RPG, players will have to set foot in a war-torn land commanded by androids and machines of some sort. The End of Yorha edition includes the base game and previously released DLCs in one pack.


Lorelei and The Laser Eyes

Are you a fan of riddles, mysteries, and puzzles? This one might just be what you’re looking for. Immerse yourself in mind-boggling puzzles plus enjoy the thrill of dark-themed mystery games.

Release date: 2023


Super Bomberman R2

Bombs away! One of the new upcoming games introduced in the Nintendo Direct Mini is the new Bomberman game, Bomberman R2. As announced, with the new game comes a new feature in the game – the Castle Mode. Fifteen (15) players will enter the same battlefield and will blast each other away in a berserk battle. One player will act as a defender while the others will purge their way through the castle.

Release date: 2023


Battle Man Battle Network – Legacy Collection

Relive the nostalgia with the MegaMan Battle Network Legacy Collection! The fan-favorite collection will feature 10 of the best Battle Network games in one pack.

Titles included in the collection are as follows:

Megaman Battle Network
Megaman Battle Network 2
Battle Network 3 – Blue
Battle Network 3 – White
Megaman Battle Network 4 – Blue Moon
Megaman Battle Network 4 – Red Sun
Battle Network 5 – Team Colonel

Not only that, but the collection will also feature an art gallery of over thousands of MegaMan illustrations plus a Music Mode containing hundreds of theme songs in the MegaMan series.


PAC-MAN World Re-PAC

A Pac-Man game remake is on its way to filling our hearts with joy and happiness – PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC! Launching this August 26, join the adventures of the titular character, Pac-Man, as he tries to rescue his family and friends from the fiends of Ghost Island.


BLANC

I’m not crying, you’re crying! In Blanc, two unlikely characters will form a bond like no one else. Follow their journey in text-free gameplay through local or online cooperatives which everyone can enjoy. Blanc will be coming exclusively for Nintendo Switch on February 2023.


Return to Monkey Island

All aboard! Announced in the showcase, the second coming of Monkey Island will be dropping later this year. Further, the game will be first released on Switch.


Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope

If you thought Mario couldn’t get any better, think again. Follow the impeccable Italian plumber, Mario, as he teams up once again with the Rabbids in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. The sequel to the Mario + Rabbids game is set to join Switch on October 20.


Little Noah: Scion of Paradise

Little Noah: Scion of Paradise is a 2D roguelike action game. Step into the shoes of a genius alchemist Noah alongside Zipper, her furry companion. Traverse the epic lands of Port Manacloud as they discover ancient ruins and unmask the truth behind the mysteries happening in her world. The game has already launched on Nintendo Switch yesterday (June 28). There’s no time to waste, it’s time to cleanse our motherland!


Sonic Frontiers

Tired of just running around? Why don’t we run with a purpose! With the new Sonic game, Sonic Frontiers, the fasted hedgehog in the universe can now run freely and take his limit to the test. Unfortunately, enemies are still lurking around and will stand in your way no matter what.

When will it be available?

According to the developers, Sonic Frontiers will be out soon, during the holidays.


Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley is a free-to-play Disney and Pixar-themed simulation game inspired by The Sims. Embark on an epic adventure in a quiet town called Dreamlight Valley and become the light that will illuminate the shadows that have plagued the townspeople.

As early as September, simulation game fans can enjoy Dreamlight Valley through early access. Meanwhile, the game is set to be officially released next year, 2023, for PlayStation as well as Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Live A Live

The Live A Live demo will follow three unique chapters: Imperial China, Twilight of Edo, and The Distant Future. Experience the new and improved HD-2D look of this classic role-playing game next month, July 22.


DORAEMON STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of The Great Kingdom

The iconic Japanese cartoon character, Doraemon, will star in a new game called Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom. Be whoever you want to be and do whatever you want to do with the use of Doraemon’s powerful gadgets! Farmlands, tend to animals, build your own place, or just chill with your friends, everything is possible in this simulation game.

Along with the other games announced in the Direct Mini Partner showcase, this new Doraemon game will be released this year.


Minecraft Legends

Next year, a spinoff to the already popular building and RPG game is set to thrill us with new adventures. Creatures from other dimensions have arrived in Minecraft to invade your property. Protect them at all costs! Minecraft Legends will launch on Nintendo Switch, next year.

Developed by Omega Force, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a hack and slash action made for the Nintendo Switch. The game itself will is already available on Switch as we speak.


A Plague Tale: Requiem – Cloud Version

As confirmed by the creators of the game, A Plague Tale: Requiem will be coming to Nintendo Switch as a cloud version.


Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump + Dimensions

When a young boy who has no friends moves to an unfamiliar place, things then are about to take an insane turn. The boy, Damien, will live in a fictional world as Captain Velvet as he embarks on various adventures together with his favorite manga characters. Captain Velvet Meteor will be gracing us with its presence on July 28.


Portal: Companion Collection

The award-winning franchise will be available on Switch today. As usual, with the help of the Portal Gun, the player must try to escape the eerie Aperture Lab and its leader, GLaDOS, who happens to be artificial intelligence. The bundle will include Portal, Portal 2, and the co-op and split-screen versions of Portal 2.

Square Ennis took the Direct Mini showcase as an opportunity to announce their newest action farming role-playing game, Harvestella. Harvest crops, forge weapons, enhance your gears, make friends with the townspeople, and discover the graphically outstanding world of Harvestella. What a way to live in a video game!

We just might have to wait for a bit as Harvestella is yet to come out on November 4.


Persona 5 Royal

Admit it, you were not prepared for this! Three of the most recent Persona games are coming to Switch. Persona 3 (Portable), Persona 4 (Golden), and Persona 5 (Royal) are all set foot on the Nintendo console on August 21, with each game sold separately.

Coincidentally, the last on this list was the first game announced on the showcase. The popular game studio, Capcom, announced that a massive expansion is coming our way this year. Apart from that, a new title called “Seething Bazelgeus” will be released in August of this year so be sure to stick around!
