- The screenplay was originally written for Jackie Chan, but the writers felt a female protagonist felt more organic and relatable. That is how Michelle Yeoh landed the role.
The indie film’s breakout success is attributed to its low-key crew and budget. Studios like Marvel splurge hundreds of millions of dollars on VFX and hire tens of thousands of people to do it. And their final output has been just above average of late.
However, Everything Everywhere All At Once had a core VFX team of just five people and still managed to produce a visual masterpiece that has taken the Oscars by storm.
