A shooter opened fire at a busy mall in Allen, Texas, on Saturday. The incident killed nine people and injured at least seven others. A neighboring police officer then fatally shot the gunman, according to the Allen Police Department, Collin County Sheriff’s Office.

An internet dashcam footage depicted the gunman getting out of a car outside the mall and starting to shoot at pedestrians on the sidewalk. The sound of more than 30 shots could be heard as the vehicle that was filming the incident accelerated.

Seven individuals, including the shooter, died at the site, said Jonathan Boyd, the fire chief for Allen. Two of the nine victims who were transferred to local hospitals eventually passed away. Boyd reported that four of the victims were in stable condition and three were in serious condition as of Saturday night.

As they gather evidence, US authorities have additionally urged anyone with video from the incident to get in touch with the FBI.

According to Fox4 Dallas, a shooter shot and murdered eight people who were shopping at a mall north of Dallas, Texas. Hundreds of people were forced to flee the mall in Allen when a man shooting randomly at onlookers.

Reportedly, there were children among the victims. Eight people, who were shot, were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Three of those eight patients are in critical condition now.

According to a hospital source, the victims’ ages range from 5 to 51.

Six individuals were pronounced dead at the site, and two more passed away later in the hospital, according to Allen Fire Chief Jonathan Boyd.

Upon hearing gunshots, a police officer “ran to the gunshots, engaged the suspect, and neutralized the suspect.” The murderer, who was shot by the police, died on the spot. Police claimed that they thought he acted alone.

At 3.36 pm, an Allen police officer in the area was responding to a separate call when he heard gunfire, according to the Fox4 Dallas.

“The officer engaged the suspect and neutralized the threat. He then called for emergency personnel,” a representative of Allen Police Department said.

They also took to their Twitter account to notify people about the press release they are going to conduct regarding the shooting.

Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, called the shooting an “unspeakable tragedy” and said his state was prepared to help the local authorities in any way possible.

The shooter was characterized by some witnesses as being completely in black and sporting combat attire.

“I heard about 10 pops go off, then ten to fifteen more shots – we see this guy dressed all in black, a vest, just shooting at people,” said one, adding “we just got to the back of the store.”

As gunfire went out, individuals could be seen racing across a parking lot seeking safety from the site.

Fontayne Payton, 35, heard the gunshot when he was at H&M. “It was so loud, it sounded like it was right outside,Payton said to the police.

He claimed that the shoppers in the store dispersed after hearing the gunshot. The staff then immediately led the people into a secured area. Payton noticed that the store had shattered glass and a blood trail leading to the door. Nearby were some abandoned sandals and bloody clothing.

Outside, Payton noticed bodies. “I pray it wasn’t kids, but it looked like kids,” he said. “The bodies were covered in white towels, slumped over bags on the ground.” he continued. “It broke me when I walked out to see that,” he added.

He could also see the body of a large man wearing all black further distant. Because it had not been covered up like the other dead, Payton claimed he assumed it was the shooter.

There were bloody walks outside the mall, and what appeared to be bodies were wrapped in white sheets. The victims’ ages ranged from five to 61. They are now being treated in trauma centers administered by Medical City Healthcare in Texas, which operates 16 hospitals in the area.
