The Fast & Furious game announced during The Game Awards 2019 now has a release date. Along with a release date, we have some gameplay footage, and the game’s… okayish. Fast & Furious Crossroads arrives on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on August 7.
Take a look at the gameplay yourself –
The visuals are not amazing, and the game, to me, feels like a cheap effort to diversify into the video game industry. But like many other games tied to popular franchises, Fast and Furious Crossroads could be a decent experience for the series’ die-hard fans.
YouTube Comments and ResetEra are already dropping some funny yet sad comments. Some YouTube comments explain the game pretty well. “The best graphics 2011 has to offer”, one writes. Another says, “The game is so bad it will make my PS4 cool down instead of heat up.” This one really got me. “This is the NFS Killer we’ve been waiting for,” writes another. And the comments go on.
It’s sad Codemasters is delivering such an average product after making epic racing games like Grid, Project Cars 2, and Dirt Rally. It is to be noted that, however, it’s not Codemasters’ main studios, but their subsidiary Slightly Mad Studios that’s working on Fast and Furious Crossroads. Of course, it’s not a passion project for them and the budget would have been really tight for this.
Well, if you’d like to try it out, we’ll make another article when the links are available for pre-order or purchase.
