A great moment for gamer society as Universal Pictures has just released the official trailer of Five Night At Freddy’s. Following the teaser uploaded a month ago, the official trailer has more scenes for fans to watch. In this article, we are going to dive into the trailer breakdown and see what Easter Eggs showed up in the official trailer for the FNAF movie!
Easter Eggs in the official trailer for the FNAF movie
As you might know, movie adaptations for video games like FNAF premiere in cinemas or streaming services from time to time. For example, The Witcher, The Last of Us, Uncharted, or The Assassin’s Creed all received movie adaptations in recent years. Although most of the scenes and plot of the movie are adapted accurately from the game, there might be changes to fit the movie plot better. Plus, their trailers usually contain Easter Eggs that the average fan won’t be able to spot on the first watch.
What about the upcoming Five Nights At Freddy’s movie? From the official trailer, we spotted a few Easter Eggs that made us all the more excited for the film to release later this year.
*This breakdown contains spoilers. Only continue reading if you have played the game and are familiar with the plot.
Steve Raglan changed from Dave Miller (William Afton)
From the first part of the trailer, we can see Mike calling Steve Raglan, a career counselor, to see if the job opening is still available. As he is the one connecting Mike to Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, we can assume that he is the co-owner of the Pizzeria, who in the game is called Dave Miller.
- Dave Miller is a fake name for William Afton. Afton is the main antagonist/deuteragonist of the Dayshift at Freddy’s trilogy.
- He is a serial killer who directly and indirectly caused every incident, murder, and tragedy in the series. In the plot of the franchise, he plays a crucial part.
If the theory is true, Scott Cawthon, the creator of the FNAF franchise, and the director of the movie, Emma Tammi, most likely changed the name of Dave Miller to be less predictable for the fans of FNAF. Fans will immediately recognize Miller’s name as the story’s antagonist.
Mike Schmidt is not William Afton’s Son
In the game, Mike Schmidt, the main protagonist portrayed by Josh Hutcherson, is William Afton’s son.
- Michael Afton (Schmidt’s actual name) gets the job as a night guard, fueled by the possibility of getting free pizza as an added perk to his job.
- The animatronics mistake Mike Schmidt for William Afton. Because of this, they try and kill him throughout the game.
However, as we can see in the trailer, it seems there is a huge plot change from the game. In the movie, Mike Schmidt took the job simply because he desperately needed money to pay rent.
Although the plot might differ, the movie has many more similarities to the game than there are changes. There are tons of Easter Eggs and spot-on game adaptations in the recent official trailer of Five Nights At Freddy’s.
Toreador March Song
We can clearly hear the Toreador March Song in the trailer scene when the security cameras start to glitch, waking up Mike on his first day on the job. Fans of FNAF will get chills as this song is the same song that plays every time the lights are turned off in the game.
Bonnie in the janitor’s room
This particular scene is also a big accurate adaptation of the game. In Five Nights at Freddy’s game, only Bonnie the Bunny can appear in the janitor’s room. This simple yet accurate scene is a plus point to ensure fans get a glimpse of the horror they once felt while playing the game.
Spring Bonnie
The infamous Spring Bonnie makes an appearance in the new trailer. The iconic hybrid animatronic didn’t show up in the first teaser trailer. This suit’s appearance can confirm that William Afton will be using the Spring Bonnie suit to do what antagonists do: kill.
