One of the Fatui Harbingers shown in the teaser looks similar to a Genshin Impact ‘NPC’
Genshin Impact recently dropped “A Winter Night’s Lazzo,” a teaser which showed the Fatui Harbingers gathered around a coffin. But before that, each Fatui Harbinger was shown. Some Genshin Impact fans noticed that Pantalone looks like Baizhu.
And as we get further into the teaser, we find out that the coffin is for one of their fellow Harbingers: Rosalyne.
If you’ve progressed through the region of Inazuma, then you may remember that Rosalyne or La Signora met her demise after dueling with the Raiden Shogun. After that, she became a permanent World Boss available in Genshin Impact.
There are a lot of things to be excited about now that we got a glimpse of the visuals of the Fatui Harbingers. However, some fans noticed that one of the Harbingers bears a resemblance to a character we met early on in the game.
Pantalone shows a lot of similarities to Baizhu in the latest teaser about the Fatui
Pantalone, the ninth Fatui Harbinger is known to be the “wealthiest of all the Harbingers”. And although this is the first time we’ve seen the other Harbingers, some fans couldn’t help but notice that Pantalone looks familiar.
If you can recall, we ran into a green-haired man with a snake around his neck the first time we went to Bubu Pharmacy. Baizhu is the man running Bubu Pharmacy alongside Qiqi. Before we saw the faces of the Harbingers, there are theories about Baizhu being the Dendro Archon since he possesses the Dendro element.
However, we can’t ignore the fact that he looks eerily similar to Pantalone, the Ninth of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. From the hair to the half-rimmed glasses, there’s something fishy going on with this Harbinger’s character design.
Some Genshin Impact fans theorize that he may be Baizhu’s real identity. On the other hand, there are those who feel like Pantalone and Baizhu are twins. For those fans who say that Baizhu is Pantalone’s alter ego, they claim that he is doing this to infiltrate Liyue.
On the other hand, the fans who speculate that the two characters are related notice they contrast each other. Ever since Genshin Impact introduced Baizhu, fans can easily recognize him because of his bright-colored character.
But still, Pantalone looks like any typical Fatui Harbinger. His character’s entire color palette is dark. But there’s no denying that the two characters look similar to each other. So if they were related, then it would only make sense that they are opposites of each other.
Other similarities between the two characters are in their attitudes
One Genshin Impact fan also pointed out that Baizhu and Pantalone are both greedy, so to say. In a Reddit post shared by u/Human_Matter_1583, they explain that Baizhu practices improper business ethics.
In one quest, Zhongli buys Everlasting Incense off of Baizhu. However, Baizhu sells it to Zhongli for 3,000,000 Mora, indicating that he intentionally overprices his products. As for how this is a similarity he has with Pantalone, the Harbinger has another alias: Regrator.
A “regrator” is a person “who purchases goods from a market, then resells that item … at an inflated price.” So with that being said, both Baizhu and Pantalone have questionable business ethics. But as of now, we have yet to know the connection between the two characters.
We’re definitely excited to see where this leads. Furthermore, maybe future Genshin Impact updates will reveal whether or not Baizhu and Pantalone are connected in any way.
