Earlier this year a video popularly titled ‘Girl Mad She Got a Tesla’ capturing the unruly behavior of a teen rejecting a new car because she wanted a pink Mercedes Benz received major backlash from netizens. The video has recently resurfaced on X (former Twitter) and many believe it is staged. Unfortunately, it isn’t, and here’s an update on what happened next.
TikTok’s ‘Girl Mad She Got A Tesla’ video resurfaces online
On December 8, 2023, a Twitter account (@crazyclipsonly) sharing viral clips from across the web published the infamous ‘Girl Mad She Got A Tesla’ video from TikTok. The video originally went viral in February 2023, when an Atlanta mom named Neshie (@neshieslife2340) uploaded a clip of her 16-year-old’s reaction to receiving a Tesla as a birthday gift.

Usually, a teen would be ecstatic about receiving a car on her sweet 16 regardless of which brand it was but Neshie’s daughter had a different reaction. She not only got upset at her mother for purchasing a Tesla but also demanded she exchange it for a Mercedes Benz.
The main reason for this tantrum was that she desperately wanted a pink Mercedes Benz and had a strong repulsion for driving a car that required being charged. Throughout the video, we can hear her complaining that ‘I don’t want a car that needs to be charged‘ going as far as to say that she would ‘rather walk‘ and ‘it is the worst birthday.‘
This video has shocked netizens once again after it began resurfacing on Twitter. Many are criticizing the teen for throwing a tantrum and being ungrateful. On the other hand, some found the clip so horrifying that they stated it ought to be staged for TikTok and can’t be real.
Unfortunately, the clip is real and the mom ended up returning the Tesla but she also taught her daughter a lesson here’s how.
Update: Mom returns the Tesla to teach her daughter a lesson
The mother, Neshie, expressed her embarrassment at the end of the viral video which currently has over 30 million views. She shared that her daughter was adamant about Mercedes Benz but as it wasn’t available and she had heard that Tesla was good as well so decided to get it.

After the shocking reaction of her daughter, Neshie decided to return the Tesla but only to teach her daughter a lesson. In another clip, the mom presents her daughter with a secondhand cherry-red Chevrolet Sonic.
This time both the parents excitedly presented her with the Sonic saying here’s your Mercedes and reminded her that this is the car she deserves after rejecting a new Tesla. The daughter took a look at the car and kept kicking it to which her father chimed in saying “If you want something else, use your own money to get it.”
Sadly, the daughter didn’t apologize to her parents instead she stormed inside shouting that they should ‘never talk to her again.’ In a later video, the mother updates that her daughter and her cousin accidently crashed a car which has netizens laughing that good thing it wasn’t a Benz.
