God of War Ragnarok Could Be 40 Hours Long

David Jaffe, the director of the first God of War (2005) and God of War II (2007) has revealed that God of War Ragnarok could be around 40 hours long.

God of War (2018) was around 21 hours long if you consider just the Main Story. If what Jaffe’s saying is true, the sequel could be a much longer game with more for us to explore.

“I’m hearing from people in the know that the game is 40 hours. They are aiming for 40 hours of gameplay,” Jaffe said in his newest YouTube video. “Now I don’t know if that’s 100-percent platinum trophy completion or if that’s average playtime.”

40 hours for God of War 2 or God of War Ragnarok, whatever Sony ends up calling it, would be massive. Personally, I’d love to spend a lot more time exploring the depths of the game and fighting Thor, something everyone’s excited about.

PlayStation will broadcast its Showcase this Thursday which will include major announcements from their first-party studios and beyond. And there’s a high chance of God of War Ragnarok being shown during the presentation. Maybe not gameplay, but a teaser or a trailer, for sure. Alongside, we’re speculating games like Spider-Man 2, Gran Turismo 7, and The Last of Us Part II Factions.
