Gotham Knights, the upcoming game from WB Games Montréal has got a new Gameplay Trailer. This new gameplay trailer has revealed both Gotham Knights’ Nightwing and Red Hood Gameplay.
The director Geoff Ellenor also discusses more in detail concerning the gameplay of both these characters. Along with both these characters, two other playable Bat-family characters will also be available when it launches on Oct. 25.
As for the trailer itself, it starts off with Nightwing roaming around the city.
The trailer showcases his newly revealed glider and trapeze. This allows him to hover and fly upward, too. Along with that, we also see Red Hood who gets around by using his own soul energy and an ability called Mystical Leap. He also has this ability which he can use in a combination with the grapple to traverse the rooftops more easily.

We also got a glimpse at two of Nightwing’s abilities which include the Elemental Shock and Cryostasis freezes. Elemental Shock ignores armor and deals direct damage while Cryostasis freezes enemies to knock them out. Later in the trailer, there’s a new look at the Court of Owls’ engineered superhumans.
Furthermore, a mini-boss fight is also shown where Red Hood encounters a Talon Gladiator. He seems to have multiple unblockable attacks and can block with a shield too. The director says that the Talon Gladiator is even capable of reviving itself.
Aside from all the gameplay footage, the trailer also showcases Belfry – the base of operations. Players can customize suit cosmetics and upgrading a character is possible too. This allows them to change multi-hero takedowns. Along with that, there are even the Batcycle customization options which would be accessible to every character in the game. The game also includes co-op with up to 4 players. Other than that, there’s the workbench, the Bat Computer, the customizable UI, and more.
Gotham Knights to Skip Last-Gen Consoles
While the Gameplay trailer for Gotham Knights doesn’t mention this, the game is also skipping the last-gen consoles. The game was actually set to launch for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. However now, the game won’t be released on the last-gen system when it releases in October 25, 2022. While the PC requirements for the game aren’t out yet, we should see them in a couple of weeks.
In a statement, Warner Bros. said: “to provide players with the best possible gameplay experience, the game will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC and will not be available for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One consoles.”
In case you missed it, Gotham Knights is a game set in a world after the death of Batman. The sudden death has caused the crime in Gotham City to spike up. This is where Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon, Tim Drake, and Jason Todd have all received a farewell message from Bruce asking them to carry on his legacy and protect Gotham City.
