We have some interesting news for Halo fans as a few details for the Halo Infinite story have been leaked. Now, some of you might like to hear such stuff and others might not want to spoil their experience. Also, the information we are about to share is confirmed official leaks and not rumors. So, here’s what we know about it, and don’t worry no spoilers follow.
The Leak
Gamers discovered several major plot specifics while checking out the initial technical test launch for Halo Infinite. On PC and Xbox, the technical trial was a multiplayer-only preview build. And of course, many gamers began to leak that information, which can now be found all over the internet.
The CEO of 343 industries, Joseph Staten, confirmed the unintentional leaks on his Twitter account and called them spoilers. He went on to urge the fans to keep it a secret and not spoil everyone’s fun.
“Hey folks, heads up: we unintentionally included a small number of #HaloInfinite campaign files in the tech preview build. Unfortunately, these files contain spoilers. Leaks like this are painful for the dev team and can ruin the campaign experience for everyone. So please, keep your eyes peeled for spoilers and don’t spread them if you see them”, he tweeted.
What All Was Leaked (No Spoilers)
As mentioned above, some major stuff was leaked accidentally and now you can find it on Reddit and Twitter accounts of certain people. We will not spoil your fun, but we can excite you by telling you what they were about briefly.
- Infinite seems like a fresh start with mostly new characters on a new Halo ring
- It includes story beats and descriptions of objectives, most of which are hard to parse without context
- It also included a list of achievement titles and weapons that we guessed based on earlier gameplay reveals
- A plaintext dump with over 800 strings of text on the web related to Halo can be found
Warnings
After the leak, the CEO took to Twitter and urged fans to not spoil the game for others. Apart from that, Halo community director Brian Jarrard advised people who have revealed the information to retract it. He suggested that posting it on public channels will result in DMCA takedowns.
“You run a very real risk of getting a takedown notice, which could result in a strike on certain platforms. If you have already posted content, we recommend removing it from your channel proactively”, he said via his Twitter account.
So, after reading this article if you do decide to scout those details on the web, we will advise you to not post them anywhere else. Not only would it lead to spoiling other’s fun, but it could also lead to the takedown of your accounts. So, let’s wait for some official information as the game is almost here and would release sometime this fall.
