Halo Infinite has received some more changes in gameplay rewards recently. Developers 343 Industries have said that players were receiving “slower payouts” in their starting sessions that were actually planned. In order to compensate, players will be receiving a boost in XP for the first few games every day.

When the game was released, players did not earn any XP for playing. The devs made a change, bringing in a “play one game” challenge where players would earn 50 XP for each game. However, players have not been satisfied with this.

NEW XP DISTRIBUTION

John Junyszek, the community manager at 343 Industries has revealed the details of the boost on Twitter. Players will be rewarded 300 XP for their 1st game, 200 XP for the 2nd and 3rd game, 100 XP for the 4th, 5th, and 6th games. After the 6th game, each further game will reward players 50 XP.

Players will experience huge changes with these changes. Previously, they received just 50 XP for every game. 20 games were required to gain a level, but now it will be made easier. Players will be able to progress quicker.

“After seeing how XP was earned with those changes, we noticed that players were starting their sessions with slower payouts than we’d like. To address this, we will be increasing the XP payout for the first 6 matches of each day.”
-John Junyszek, Community Manager at 343 Industries

Further, Junyszek has stated that the developers are aware of players’ desire for larger changes in the game. He went on to say that the developers are “committed to do so, but those will take time.”

The change in the XP update has been made based on data and feedback from players. Other changes that cater to the needs of players can also be expected to be made in the future.
